***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Monaco***

I think it's also good for PR / fan relations. How many fans' bonds with the club will be strengthened by being able to attend a huge European night, plus young ones who will be talking for years about their first match at Wembley. There are obvious short-term gains by having a full stadium on TV, for the players, etc., but also a long term benefit of cementing loyalty and providing an experience, regardless of ticket prices. It also tests the market for filling a larger WHL.

Plus, I'm sure there will be plenty of income from merch sales on the night.

Who cares what the tickets cost anyway? Fans are fans. If a father can take his family of four to a match because the tickets are reasonably priced, whereas they wouldn't go if tickets cost five times more, why do "bitter fans of other sides" have an issue with that?
I couldn't agree more, with the ticket pricing as it is, it's costing me £40 to take my two boys and me, plus £12 for parking... I can potentially afford to go to all three group games with this smart pricing whereas if Spurs had taken the greedy approach and charged more, I may have only be able to see one. It will be my boy's first trip to a game at Wembley... let's hope it will be as memorable as mine (1981 FA Cup replay!)

I suspect Levy will be smarter with Wembley and eventually with new stadium than most people would give him credit for.

We have a hard core group of fans, that for the most part are getting older. European nights and the atmosphere of 60-80k+ Yids will create a whole new generation ...

Some Poch quotes:

"It is always important to keep your best players and English talent. That is very important for the club. It is fantastic news."

"In the next few days maybe there will be another player with the same news as Eric and Christian. It's important for the club, not just me."

"It's important that our main striker has started scoring again."

"For him it was important because it's important for all strikers to feel the net. We have a lot of important games to play."

"We trust in us. We believe in the way we play and it’s a good chance to play on a big pitch. We need to adapt our game."

"I think it [playing at @wembleystadium] will be a fantastic moment for us to share with almost 90,000 Tottenham fans."

"We feel good at White Hart Lane because it’s our home and we need to feel good at Wembley. With two pitches [at the training ground] we designed the same dimensions as Wembley. We change between the pitches to keep the grass at a good level. We use different pitches on different days during the week. You have more space to play, it’s more difficult for the opponent to press you when [there are] more metres to run, but the same for both."

“We need to go to Wembley and play, behave naturally and not try to find an excuse, that’s never good. We need to play and try to beat Monaco."

"Our pre-match routine will be same; we will arrive three and a half hours before the game. Parking will be easier than at White Hart Lane now, which is very difficult."

"@mousadembele is available which is good news. Danny is recovering well but is still out."

Hot off the OS:

The Club's record attendance has stood at 75,038 for 68 years, an FA Cup sixth round tie against Sunderland at the Lane on March 5, 1938.

Now, every fan stepping through the turnstiles on Wednesday night will contribute to a new mark in the Club's history, a mark we know already exceeds 80,000.

Arrive early - 7.45pm KO!
Suffice to say, with that attendance in mind, we ask all supporters to arrive as early as possible. Kick-off is 7.45pm and turnstiles will open at 5.45pm.

Wear your colours!
European nights have traditionally seen us sporting an all-white kit. It is the colour associated with many of our glory, glory nights. Make this another one to remember - wear white!

Home from home
It will feel like 'home' as soon as you arrive at Wembley. The lampposts on the famous Wembley Way will be adorned in our colours along with the lampposts around the stadium perimeter. The big external screens on the stadium will give you a Spurs welcome and after dark, you won't miss the stadium's arch lit up in Lilywhite. You will also hear the familiar sounds of the Tottenham Steel Band on the Arena Square.

Meanwhile, look out for members of the Spurs Ladies team on the Upper External Concourse as they will be handing out free hand-waving flags to young fans (while stocks last) and free limited-edition posters.

Fly your flag!
Feel free to bring your own flags!* We also have two giant crowd-surfer flags ready for the big night - imagine a sea of blue and lilywhite around Wembley - inspirational!

Special-edition programme
Our special-edition official matchday programme will be 100 pages at an increased A4 size celebrating our return to the UEFA Champions League, priced £5. Moussa Sissoko and Danny Rose are both featured, alongside Mauricio Pochettino's exclusive column.
Our new range of UEFA Champions League merchandise, Spurs kit and souvenirs will be on sale at the Wembley store and the official merchandise kiosks inside and outside the stadium.

Take a snap!
Fancy appearing on the screens at Wembley? Take your photographs and post on Twitter and Instagram using #SpursAtWembley and you could find yourself on the concourse screens or the big screen inside the stadium!

We look forward to welcoming you to our Champions League home on what promises to be a memorable glory glory night!

*Flags and banners permitted in accordance with Wembley’s usual rules and regulations - please refer to ‘guidance to use of flags at Wembley Stadium', link below.

So where do you all plan to drink beforehand then? I'm coming from the south so thinking baker st but any recommendations?

I quite like that Dier is at the presser. After just signing a new contract I think it is a savvy move by the club to push him in front of the cameras.

I like his interviews, the post city at home result you could see his passion and resolve. Awesome that he's signed for another 5, I'm yet to be convinced that him and Wanyama are needed for the majority of games but hopefully they'll prove me wrong I suppose.

With Dembele out and it being the start of the season, solidity first isn't the worst path to choose.

Banned in the general admission areas. UEFA family and other VIP clams can drink as much as they want while the rest of us will have to make do with the beer ads plastered everywhere.
Glad I didn't bother shelling out an extra £25 for Club Wembley, so I could have access to the well stocked bars on that level, if that's the case.

I don't know how Club Wembley works, but you need access to a hospitality lounge to get alcohol as there will be nothing on sale in the concourses. If there are seats left over they will be sold to the common man.

Did hospitality at Anfield this weekend, but that was no more than a mediocre restaurant overstaffed with underqualified people. You do get to come back down at HT for a cup of coffee and you can buy beer in proper glasses. Same bricky beer as in the concourses though.

Hopefully we'll use the squad tomorrow and bring in Lamela, Dembele, Sissoko and perhaps even Janssen. It won't really weaken the team at all

Only question is whether any of the defence is shuffled around - there there is more of a step down to the back-ups
