***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur v Man Utd*** Europa League Final Wednesday May 21st, KO 8pm

Been thinking about the ways we will win...several spring to mind. Any favourites here?

1) A very professional 2-0
2) A late Romero header to edge us in a 3-2 win
3) Richy winner in OT
4) Vicario saves two pens in a shoot-out to win us the trophy
5) Solanke scores a brace in a 3-1 victory
6) Porro last-minute screamer for 2-1
7) Sonny 25 yard bender breaks the deadlock around 70 mins in and we hold on desperately for a 1-0 win
8) Bentancur arrives late in the 94th minute to crash home a corner in the 6 yard box and snatch it.
9) Johnson scores early and we go on to coast 3-0
10) We get away with a foul on Onana as Sarr sticks his nut on a corner to send us delirious...
11) Bergvall, on for the final 10 mins in a 1-1 game, slaloms into the box, gets taken out by a Utd player, and Solanke panenkas the winner.

I'll take the one with the least drama. 2-0 safe win would do wonders for my health during those few hours yesterday!

Not sure how I’m going to get through the next 48 hours tbh…just about to try to calm myself down by having a large pre-bed Bushmills.
It's a nightmare, I was fine until exactly 2:30 this morning when I had to get up for a tinkle and it finally got me in the feels that the mighty Tottenham Hotspur are off to a European final. And I don't drink anymore either fuuuuuck!!!

We don’t but you carry on
We do:

Results when first choice defence are all playing (defined as Vicario in goal, Porro and Udogie as full backs and Romero and VDV at centre back):

23/24:
Spurs 2 - 0 Man Utd
Bournemouth 0 - 2 Spurs
Burnley 2 - 5 Spurs
Spurs 2 - 1 Sheffield Utd
Arsenal 2 - 2 Spurs
Spurs 2 - 1 Liverpool
Luton 0 - 1 Spurs
Spurs 2 - 0 Fulham
Spurs 1 - 4 Chelsea
Man Utd 2 - 2 Spurs
Spurs 3 - 2 Brentford
Everton 2 - 2 Spurs
Spurs 2 - 1 Brighton
Aston Villa 0 - 4 Spurs
West Ham 1 - 1 Spurs
Spurs 3 - 1 Forest
Saudi Sportswashing Machine 4 - 0 Spurs

24/25:
Leicester 1 - 1 Spurs
Spurs 4 - 0 Everton
Spurs 0 - 1 Arsenal
Spurs 3 - 1 Brentford
Man Utd 0 - 3 Spurs
Brighton 3 - 2 Spurs
Spurs 4 - 1 West Ham
Palace 1 - 0 Spurs
Spurs 1 - 1 Frankfurt
Frankfurt 0 - 1 Spurs
Spurs 3 - 1 Bodo Glimt
Bodo Glimt 0 - 2 Spurs

9 clean sheets in 29 games (7 out of 25 in the league)
33 goals conceded in 29 games (31 out of 25 in the league)
concede 1.24 goals a game league average equating to 47 goals conceded extrapolated over a league season.
Which is only 7 less than United have conceded this season given their own significant injury problems across defence.

Conclusion: when we have our first choice back 5 out, we are a better, more fluid team able to play out from the back effectively. However, our defence is not of the requisite quality defensively (whether down to tactics/training/personnel or all 3) to achieve the club's aims and is not demonstradibly superior to United's defence.

We do not do well at restricting chances and shutting out the other team. We do much better as an attacking force with our first choice defence as they are much better FOOTBALLERS than the second string. Porro and Udogie are much better creatively and in doing Ange's "inverted" attacking than the other full back options. Romero is great at pinging an early accurate ball in to set an attack up. VDV is great at running the ball out of defence and creating overloads (as he did v. Utd). What they are not convincing at, individually or collectively, is defending. Whichever defence we put out, we will invariably give up high quality chances and we usually concede.
The facts are this first choice back 5 started the first 9 PL games which included Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Arsenal and we conceded 10 goals (including 3 of those being the nightmare 3 in one half at Brighton). Since then that back 5 have not played together in the league.

That same back 5 has then started all 4 of the QF and semi final legs in the EL. We have conceded two goals in those four games. There is plenty to complain about this season, but you can dress it up any way you want the facts are we don't concede many goals with our first choice back 5 no matter how much you want to portray otherwise....

47 goals against would have us as 7th best defence in the league. If we only conceded 47 across the season and kept up our goal scoring record we'd be fighting for top 4/5. If we did that along with a European final I'd reckon most fans would be ecstatic.

And that would have been achieved with a very good no. 6, the missing link.

Flashscore app has line ups for the game already which i find abit strange as they don’t usually do that as far as i know.
