***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool***

Oof. That was painful.

For me the biggest disappointment was our central midfield in the first half. Sarr, Bissouma and Bentancur couldn't string a pass together, tackle, or intercept.

Kulu clearly knackered, Sonny a shadow of his former self, even Gray looked shellshocked out there.

Positives are Danso slotting in well and making some excellent tackles, and Bergvall finally giving us some presence in midfield. That kid's the real deal.

I spent half the game screaming for Ange to take Son off for Moore

I know we have lots of players missing, lots, but I don't see good coaching either in possession or out. Our players are making lots of mistakes under pressure, sure, but they are not making them while trying say an attacking pattern or anything planned I can discern. It all seems off the cuff. I spent years coaching kids triggers and patterns, drill after drill, and I just can't see what they are trying to do with the ball. Liverpoool know where their players will be before they even receive the ball and where they will run. We just react. Not good enough for this level IMO.

Don't be reasonable, this was a game we were never going to win, I'm all for being positive but some people need a reality check. We played badly despite trying to defend our lead. The team are dead physically and mentally yet our fans still believe it doesn't matter they still need to win. I would have played an entire academy squad and hope for a result on Sunday but now we will still be expected to win with this shattered group of players, it will give the moaners a great day.
They did still need to win
They didn’t because they played a better side
It’s exactly what I expected

For me, the thought of Davies operating at this really high level in football is a good place to start. When did anyone see a centre half performance that bad? Pool targeted him from the first minute of this game until Ange pulled him off the pitch. Ben was shocking.

Our front 3 were like having the bad times of Kane, Moura and Son defensively. Absolutely spineless away from home. No fight about them. Happy when we're no top. Absolutely rubbish at defending from the top.

When you play these tough away games you need great defenders and a great defensive strategy. Because of what we've done for the last 18 months, when asked to get into a defensive strategy, it was a train wreck.

I mean, what was Ange actually thinking would happen? A really bad day at the office, but against a fantastic team.

The midfield was shocking. The three of them can't be relied on. Each one of them on their day can be brilliant, but those days aren't enough, more 4/10 performances than 8 or 9/10. It really needs to be addressed. Whether that is playing Gray and Bergvall as two DMs and Kulu ahead of them and see how that works or a totally new midfield in the summer it needs to change.

Because they are so fit they constantley know how to play...the ball is moved on before we even get a tackle in.
they are not the best team since sliced bread but are good at how they play. constant tackling as soon as we have the ball and we are too slow to mark them because of how they play and overall their fitness counts for everything. ...they just said it on the TV we were constantley harassed like never before.
If you noticed we held our own for periods in the first half..before their fitness kicked in and we simply could not keep up with the pace..
Liverpool have allways been a super fit football team...Anyway we were well beat..but like I said they are not the best team ever...but the best this season down to fitness and how they pace their game...
And we have no outball
We have a weakling on the left
A strongman on the right
Both are knackered
And a CF who got injured walking… waking
Then add in the passing from two senior experienced pros and it highlights weaknesses

I've been saying the same thing for months now. They don't just look unprepared to receive the ball, they look surprised, they have no idea what to do with this hot potato his teammate gave to him. You prepare yourself before receiving the ball, you look around, seek opportunities and where the opposition player is, they look to scared to do that. They play în constant fear.

Bergvall or Kulusevski need to be starting in CM.

Kulusevski has the strength to hold the ball up, but Bergvall uses the ball quicker.

Would like to see Gray given a shot in CM, but he is more likely to play CF at this rate.

it's madness. Kulu was thriving in CM amd Ange changed it for no apparent reason when we have other wide players who could play RW.

Gray has played everywhere but his actual bloody position.

Spence played everywhere except GK tonight (probably would have done better than flapper Kinsky).

it's bloody chaotic. Ange is really not helping himself.

That's it

- Did I expect a win? no, none of us did
- Do I get the impact of a knackered squad and injuries? yes

With all of that, is it good enough? (not just against Liverpool tonight), it isn't.

That was a really disappointing performance. A nothing performance. A lay down with the legs in the air and let them tickle your belly performance. We offered absolutely nothing. I feel like Ange IS trying to be a bit more tactically intelligent and defensive, but in doing so he is merely removing all the good bits about watching his team so far (the chances, the goals, the interplay) while simply leaving the tactical naivety, huge gaps and slap-stick defending. There wasn't a single positive in could really take out of watching that....
