*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Juventus ***

Whatever happens we cannot concede early. Ideally we counter them as they are in need of a goal.

Thats my contribution ... nervous excited and exhausted already
When we cannot concede early? What do we do? Concede early!
I'm hoping that the fact that we talk about it, means that we won't concede early. Or now we have talked about it and tried to not tempt fate, we will concede early!

Its not ideal if we concede first but we were 2 down within 10 mins at their stadium and came back. Let's not underestimate how many problems we caused them. For a team that simply does not concede we could have had a hatful.

I understand the attitude but they had some key players out in the first leg and the players coming back are more than apt to fill the gaps that we exposed last time out.

Litch and Blaise will certainly turn up.

However we are in this tie on merit and i dont believe this hype of easily turning them over.

Juve are almost certain to come out of the blocks fast, try and get an advantage like last time - and if they do will then be very happy to sit on it.

An early goal for us opens it up and makes for a good game to watch, one for them makes it attritional and horrible to go through.

We must not let that happen at all costs. Stay solid, and grow into the game as it allows.
Are they, though? A lot of people have have been saying that, but it's not like the need to score 2-3 goals to progress. They need just one goal and will have a whole 90 minutes to get it.

Allegri knowing that Spurs will likely play their game and seek to control the game and knowing what a good counterattacking side we are, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually sat deep and solid to ensure that first and foremost they did not concede. Because then they would really have to open up, which I don't think is their style. They would then look to hit us on the break and only if the score is still level after 60-70 minutes would the actually open up and seek to attack more. So I could just as easily see them playing the counterattacking game to start with and only reverting to taking control of the game in the later stages.

EDIT: I noticed you mentioned this scenario in a later post. I think it's the most likely one.

As the day goes on why does the ability to concentrate on aything else evaporate. It like a tsunami washing over you.

I try to ignore it, but you can hear it,feel it, sense it.

I'll start getting snappy soon, everyone just leave me alone.

I'm gonna get what i need for tonight together now.........otherwise i'll be wandering from room to room in a fractious haze without a clue whether i have everything, and whether its ok to leave the house.

I can well see them starting very high tempo and trying to catch us out - it is something we can be vulnerable. Then, goal or no, retreating back to playing on the counter.

Its what I would do if I were in charge of them.

I think we will see a much better Juventus tonight, they underestimated us in the last game and the two early goals made them over confident. We shouldn't fear them, but we must be on our mettle to get the result and at all cost keep our heads.

I think they underestimated us. Tonight they will be better prepared

Too many people are saying we are favourites. I don't like it. Such an immense test ahead for the players tonight

They did under estimate us but they also didn’t (on the day) have the ability to change the game and we did.

Don’t forget they hadn’t really been given a proper game by anyone in their league for some time and we know here that anyone can beat anyone

Embrace it. Will be a magic night, and if it doesn't go the way we want, at least we are where we wanted to be... rubbing shoulders with the elite.

This. I'm really nervous, as I badly want us to win, but when we drew Juventus I saw both these games as bonus matches essentially. If we win, fantastic, if not, then at least we've met some top top opponents this year and we've done well.

Not saying we should be happy to go out obviously, but I think we should all take tonight in and just enjoy the occasion. :)
