***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Cheat$ki***

I despise chelscum more than the scum now and losing to them is terrible but sadly I just can't seeing us get anything out of this game....

However, I do see a positive if that happens....

With several players missing for the next few weeks top four may have gone already and if that's the case it could allow us to concentrate on the other 3 trophies we are still in...

To be able to rest players for league games could be crucial at a time when players are reaching burn out...

Anyway, COYS and let's hope we batter 'em!

Alli Gold writing about how Jose and Alli need to work on things now gives me hope he can start being integrated back in the the team. But I am terrified of this game right now

Team

Lloris
Aurier Toby Dier Rodon Davies
Ndombele Hojberg
Stevie Vinicius Son

OK...allow me to dream. I know this won't happen, but allow me to play manager.

Lloris

Aurier
Dier
Alderweireld
Davies

Hojberg
Ndombele

Bergwijn
Dele
Son

Vinicius

That's the side I would want. Let Sonny and Dele play together. Let Vinicius play as a 9, perhaps with his back to goal more than facing it, but use him as point off which to bring the likes of Sonny and Dele into the equation. Hojberg and Ndombele allows the deeper midfield to function as a fire starter as well as stopper. Allow Tanguy to roam from deeper and find the passes only he can find, and allow Dele and Son to make the runs that only they can make.

I know I know. He won't because he can't because he doesn't because we don't...but honestly, imagine if we played on the front foot with this, looking to give Ndombele the ball whenever possible. It might work.

I think your side paints a pretty clear picture of where our main problem lies at the moment. Alderweireld and Dier are too slow to play a high-pressing game and, unfortunately, they're also too error-prone to sit deep. It's a catch-22 situation. Alternatively, he could decide to give Rodon more time on the pitch but with his job on the line, it's not an easy decision to make. Also, considering the amount of games we have to play (at least this months), he'll need to rotate his squad. That means Sanchez will be back in the side sooner or later, despite his atrocious performance against Brighton.

I don't know why he gave up on the hybrid 4-2-3-1 he used last season, we Aurier pushing further up the pitch and Davies forming a back three when in possession. Maybe because we hardly have the ball anyway!

As for Dele, it's even more complicated. Unfortunately, in his position, you need to be playing at least semi-reguarly in order to be at your best. Judging by the past 15 months, he won't be a game-changer straight away. That means you need to invest in him. Since (allegedly) Mourinho was ok to let him leave, that looks unlikely but who knows? He did manage to turn Ndombele into a regular starter and, quite frankly, nobody expected that ten months ago...

Because we signed Reguilon. I think that it might be a good idea to go back to it whilst he's out but it does make us very predictable.

It would nice if Reguilon made a surprise appearance. I’d go with;

——————-Hugo——————-

Doherty Toby Rodon Reguilon

———-Sissoko Hojbjerg———

—Bergwjin Ndombele Son—

——- ——-Vinicius————-

2-1 win for Jose

Agreed re: CBs, but my mitigation is that Ndombele deeper allows us to get the ball out of defensive areas with more skill and presence. I like Rodon a great deal and think he can come very good, but would be loathe to put him under any more pressure. I didn't think Sanchez was terrible against Brighton TBH.Sorry...the dog is whinging that I need to go to bed, so to be continued!!!!

Can you actually just replace Mourinho please. Just replace Dier quickly though.

Is Dele fit? I thought that he was injured. If he’s fit, he would be straight in to the team for me and told to go fight for his place. I’d say that I know he is more than good enough, but that he needs to prove that, not just sit on reputation. That he should pay attention to Ndombele over past 12 months. He’s a spark for us in midfield.

Don't get that comment, from what I've seen he's quite mobile for a big lad, got good control and can head the ball well. Been very under-used by Jose.

Well if it were up to me we wouldn't be playing a super low block and Vinicius would fit in to my team for the reasons you mention, however we're going to sit super deep, get the ball to Ndombele and launch balls in to Son - Vinicius would be a bystander.

Ndombele in the deeper MF terrifies me, I don't think he can play anywhere other than as a 10.

I agree we are desperately missing any creativity in midfield and he looks the only player who can open teams up with his passing and ability to carry the ball pass players.

I disagree completely, I think that he looks a lot more effective running from deep. What I would like to see is two players beside him, so that we can dominate midfield.

He can be a deeper, but we need bodies behind him, he takes too many risks with possession, I don't like the idea of him turning the ball over right in front of the CB's.

Ndombele in CM in a 4-2-3-1 is fine as the '3' would cover some of the runners, and in particularly the no 10 if it was someone like Dele.

THe problem is if he plays there in the 3-4-3 which Jose has been playing - it leaves the two CMs hugely exposed as the WBs stay wide and the forwards stay up pitch

I think that a lack of bodies in central midfield is an issue right now. We can't progress play from there. I don't see Ndombele as risk played deep, he is good on the ball and the defensive side of his game is sound. The priority for me would be giving him a platform that allows him to do damage to the opposition. Without Kane, we need a lot from him.

I do feel the OMTs have been a big contributer to our recent form. It’s the lack of jeopardy since the avatar change stopped.
