*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley FC ***

Just me or did Gray impose himself more on the game in the second half (until subbed). Thought he did better, but may just be me.

Wasn't just you - I noticed he got caught wrong side of the ball a lot in the first half, but really cut down on that in the second. Some promising moments, and both held on to, and moved the ball well.

I personally think he needs a long, consistent spell partnering either Bentancur or Palhinha - either of them can put an arm around him and give him the mentoring he needs to adjust his positioning and anticipation. Hopefully he gets the opportunity for that as the season progresses.

Thanks and fully agreed. Good to see him get game time this early. But games next to one of those more experienced players could also be really good for him.

Showed last season how good he can be under pressure when he played at the back.

Today was a good omen for what could be with this team.

Cast your minds back to a year ago when we walked away with a disappointing draw at Leicester. Perhaps some interesting comparisons to that game with today's to be fair. Best team in the first halves of both games and then lost our way in some key periods of the game. I think the difference today was that whilst Burnley were in the ascendency, our guys didn't lose focus or composure. Against Leciester I thought we went into "rabbits in headlights" mode. Today, we found the extra gear, scraped the clean sheet and got a 3-0 victory as opposed to a 1-1 draw.

I'm certain this squad looks in a far better place than a year ago. Still loads of work to do but incrementally so much better organised and less vulnerable than a year ago.

The squad is in a much better place than a year ago. Losing Maddison was a blow, but having added Kinsky, Danso, Tel and Kudus adds a lot to this squad. Then Gray, Bergvall, Spence, Odobert all being a year older, more experienced and proven. We did lose Sonny too, but Sonny was no longer the Sonny we once knew and I think we all knew that.

Hopefully more to come from this transfer window, but the squad is very much moving in the right direction.
