OMT *** Tottenham Hotspur v Brentford FC ***

Bit unlucky to have our 3 no10s all unavailable + our most attacking 8 + our only left footed left back (I’m discarding Davies). We’re limited in the tools we have tonight.

Having said that, there’s a chance for Frank to be creative:

Move VDV to left back and play Danso.
Play Odo in the 10 and play Tel/RKM left.
Play Tel or RKM in a 2 man attack with Richy.

Playing 3 blunt instruments in CM was not the ONLY option available.

I don't get our press, or rather lack of it. We're not sitting deep, but aren't really pressing either. Makes it so comfortable for Brentford. It's like everything is at 50%.
Movement, press and positioning have all been shocking. I like we are pressing high but I'm not convinced we are actually pressing. It feels very rigid, it's like everyone has a position and cannot stray too far from it.

I think we've been alright.

No saves to make, they've had the ball but in front of us and we've created the best opportunities.

For a away performance for a team that's only lost at home to City, I thought people would be more upbeat about what's happened so far.

this is what PL football looks like now

You want away games to be a bit nothing, then kill it off.
Valid.
Its just that I think we are not necessarily seeing the team doing the basics rights. Its just frustrating

That's fair enough, but if you are going to press, it's has to be a collective press. We aren't. It's one or two players at most pressing half heartedly.

It almost feels like we should put VDV at LB, get Danso on, Bents or Pal off and get Spence into the central 10 role.
