OMT *** Tottenham Hotspur v Brentford FC ***

We pass the ball sideways and backwards to inevitably pass it back to Vicario who lumps it long and we lose it. Why not just be a bit brave in possession and try a positive forward pass, whats the worst that can happen? We lose the ball like we do lumping it long.
There was one where Bentancur beat a player and did well. He looked for the run on the right wing and Porro just stood there behind him, didn’t move and looked for the ball. Got it and went back to the centre back.

Sums us up. People ask why Bentancur doesn’t pass forward? That’s a big part of it.

Under Ange, Porro would have been in the final third. He’s an attacking full back, in fact he’s a wing back rather than a full back, but he’s being restricted.

It’s puke football.

This is what frustrates me. We are so scared to lose the ball that it ends up going back to Vicario to do something

Not just that time. It happens regularly. We win the ball in a great position, but there is no one making runs in behind!!!

Yeah playing like this is “controlled” if you win 1 or 2 nil. But if you lose it’s horrendous.

My concern is this tactic simply won’t work against better teams, but I guess at least we have some kind of plan.
To bore them and fans into deep sleep.
Its not even controlled tho is it?!
