OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v AZ - Thursday 24 October at 8pm **

NLS

Adel Taarabt
This is a very tricky team to try and pick as very hard to know what Ange will do.

I am generally in favour of picking a strong team to start, keep the feeling going from Saturday, get the game won by 60 minutes and then think about resting players... I don't think Ange will do that though. So.....

Vicario

Gray Dragusin Vdv Davies

Bissouma

Maddison Bergvall

Johnson Richy Werner

Like we all keep saying, why is Spence not in the the europa squad?????

Probably totally wrong with that prediction but COYS.

Ever present in both games so far are:

Vicario
Gray
Davies
Sarr
Bissouma
Bergvall

And including subs:

Werner
Moore
Johnson
Kulusevski
Solanke

I'll guess at:

Vicario
Gray...Dragusin...VdV...Davies
Sarr...Bergvall...Bissouma
Moore...Richarlison...Werner

...and a very strong bench!

I think Bentancur will play instead of Bissouma and Maddison for Bergvall, a win here would probably leave us only to win 2 more games to qualify, wouldn't be surprised to see Robson on bench.

I would expect similar rotation to what we've seen so far in the EL.

Perhaps particularly giving a rest to some of the players that played a lot during the internationals.

Hoping for a strong and fairly cohesive performance even with (likely) rotations. Several of the "squad players" have been getting game time and hopefully we'll see results of that.

Particularly looking forward to see more of our younger players.

troy parrot nailed on to score? probably if its forster

moore, bergvall and gray to start. maybe richy too

Need to win this as a few tricky games still left to come in the group - I would go stronger in the starting XI than we have in previous cup games
I think we all would, but are trying to second guess Ange's team. This will be one of our hardest games in the group.

If we can crumble in the space of twenty minute away to Brighton, we are not in a position to look at away games vs Rangers or Roma as anything other than tough tbh

Edit - hell not even that game, have people already forgotten Coventry??

Rangers a tough game?? If we don't win that we don't deserve to go further.

Any away cup game at night is tough, this will be a massive game against the "Auld Enemy" for them and their fans and an inexperienced side would find it a challenge. At least Postercoglu will know what to expect.

Coventry are a couple levels above Rangers

Here's a preview analysis of the upcoming match between Tottenham Hotspur and AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League:

Tottenham Hotspur

  • Form: Tottenham has been in excellent form in the Europa League, with two wins from two matches1. They recently secured a 4-1 victory over West Ham United in the Premier League, which should boost their confidence2.
  • Key Players: Brennan Johnson has been in fine form, scoring in his last two Europa League matches1. Expect him to be a key player in this encounter1.
  • Home Advantage: Tottenham has a strong home record, having won all six Europa League games at their new stadium without conceding a goal2. They are also unbeaten in their last 14 home games across all European competitions2.

AZ Alkmaar

  • Form: AZ Alkmaar has struggled recently, with a four-game losing streak in the Eredivisie2. They have also lost all eight previous European fixtures in England2.
  • Key Players: Troy Parrott, a former Tottenham player, has been a standout performer for AZ Alkmaar, scoring six goals in his first 11 matches3. However, they will be missing several key players due to injuries3.
  • Challenges: AZ Alkmaar has faced tough opponents in recent matches, including Athletic Bilbao and PSV Eindhoven, and has struggled to secure positive results2.

Prediction

Given Tottenham's strong form and home advantage, they are the clear favorites to win this match1. A convincing victory for Tottenham is likely, with a predicted scoreline of 4-1 in their favor2.

It should be an exciting match, especially with the return of Troy Parrott to his old club.

Think you need to consider who played in PL

- I suspect Bentancur gets a run out here
- I'd protect VDV before Romero
- Maybe Maddison gets a start since he only did 45 on week-end?
