OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v AZ 13.03.2025 **

That's their worst nightmare, if we make the final how do they sit watching it?
Can't imagine anyone who is a supporter doesn't want us to win the EL, no matter what their views on Ange. Most people support the club, and that hugely overrides anything else. To not want us to win a trophy would be bonkers.

Should we win the EL (and a win against the 6th placed side in the Eredivisie doesn't prove too much imo - let's see how we do against Frankfurt before starting to get too excited) then he won't be sacked in the summer.

Whether he would still be here by Christmas is a different question - haven't seen anything over the past 18 months which makes me think it would be anything other than the ten Haag situation of a temporary reprieve.

Honestly
I think this is the danger of watching on the TV and not being at the game
The fans stood and applauded him as he walked around the pitch and it started near the half way line
So yeah
And if you think that’s the whole ground…. You haven’t heard the stadium when it’s cheering
And yesterday was nothing like Bournemouth. Again, I was at both games So now exactly what happened rather than what was seen on TV

Righto mate my ears have clearly deceived me twice this week. Not just me though, Adam Sumerton and Joe Hart too. I’m sure you‘ll have a good story for why they both commented on it being about Vicario waving the team up the pitch.

Mix of the two, ironic cheers from the crowd and you can also see the fans cheering and pointing at Bergy as he walks past them
I was also in the north stand last night and the clapping for Bergvall definitely went up a notch when Vicario signalled his intention to go long from a goal kick. Happened the other times too when we went direct, and long after Bergvall had done his 'lap of honour'!

Don’t need a story as I was there
As I’ve said, you get a different experience being at a game to watching on tele.. a real one
Don’t then need a perspective of a commentator or “expert”
And Joe Hart is very good on that front, unlike many others

Player makes mistake >fans get on his back > player loses confidence >makes more mistakes >we lose >fans turn on manager.

I thought Maddison had a good but mixed game last night
But to what his post match talk… wow
To talk about leadership and being men considering it’s the “kids” that have lead Thai team this season I thought it was a fudging cheek
Then this morning as there wasn’t much podcast listening on the game I listened to a bit of LWOS and they were crediting the leadership group for last night
Maybe I was blind to stupid but it wasn’t the leadership that stepped up. In fact I’d argue that our worst players were 2 or the leadership group possibly
Maybe I’m wrong ….

He usually speaks really well but I was confused by the way he worded that. I don't think he meant "men" in the way it sounds...just players with experience.

I think he and Sonny stepped up. Son's passing was really off in the first 25 mins but he was a constant threat. Madders got on the ball and always looked positive. The 3rd goal was a thing of beauty but it doesn't happen without his feint to beat two players in the middle of our half.

Madders once middle is fine.what he did was a thing of beauty
Him and son clogging up the left is bad. Takes all the room for Spence
I thought Sonny tried and tried but as seems to be the case he makes the wrong call. When he kept it simple and passed we scored
I do think Maddison meant men as he talked about senior players having their backs… daft
I’d back the kids over them imo

I think that has been my favourite goal of the season so far. It was a treat to witness

Yeah, agreed. I wonder how many passes we had leading up to the goal. That last little flick by Solanke is hard to miss from the default camera angle, but it is a real beauty to behold in the other replay angles.

It starts way back too

There was the time when porro had it and looked like he was going to lose it… but didn’t and bang

People have jumped on me when I previously spoke about Kane doing exactly this for club and country. One would believe our former and current senior players gave everything for the shirt based on the way they talk on camera. There's a bit of Trump or Boris about so many people nowadays. If you keep saying "35 new hospitals", some naive people will just believe you and call you great.

I must say I really don't get the spacegoating of Maddison most of the time. He almost always looks to move forward or pass forward, but goes backwards a lot of the time because there simply aren't the runners. He is usually the only one looking to make any risk taking passes and if he has the option to make a creative pass he will. Should be pointing the finger way more at those who aren't making the right runs rather than him but hey ho.....

I think that is fair in the offensive sense. That's not where I have to many issues with him. I would just like him to have a bit more Van der Vaart about him in his leadership and how he knuckles down with the midfielders just behind him.

It’s not spacegoating
It’s him not being in an a effective part of the pitch which is his job
It would be like someone (baleforce) complaining that a winger isn’t defending enough… forgetting what their main role is
Maddison is meant to be the lock picker. He has done some of that in the last 2 games but he has also co e so deep he was in line with the CBS and not in a place where he could be affective
He can’t really point the finger as the player will likely say your standing in my place you plonker

Talking about players playing in the wrong part of the pitch, I can't understand for the life of me why Son is in our penalty area defending corners and free-kicks. He is an absolute liability defensively. If he were deployed further up the pitch it would not only give us a potential out-ball but also it would take two to mark him thus nullifying the opponents threat in our own penalty area. It seems such a no-brainer to me.
