*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa FC ***

I'd have Olusessi, Kyrematen and LWB on the bench. Abbott would be good too but he's only just back from a loan so maybe too soon.

I think Frank will go big with his selection.
Me?
I'd do this...

Kinsky

Spence
Danso
Dragusin
Davies

Odobert
Gray
Xavi
Tel

Scarlett
Richy

4-4-2, give Odobert, Tel and Scarlett a really simple effective structure, play Scarlett right off Richy's shoulder...

Give Vicario, VdV, Porro, Muani and Palhinha some off-time...

Yeah, I thought Abbott was recalled because of a quad injury. I doubt he is able to feature.

I think my team would be

................Kinsky
......Danso, Dragusin, VDV
Spence........Gray...........Davies
.....Odobert....Xavi......Tel
................Scarlett

I'm intrigued to know how Olusesi is this season. He was full of running last season but looked a little lightweight. I wonder if he's packed out a little as he approaches his 19th b'day. It would be handy to know he can compete in the middle of the park. If I knew that, I might just go with your 4-4-2 and have him in there with Gray instead of VDV.

-------------------------Kinsky-----------------------
Spence---Danso-------Davies---Van Der Ven
---------------Palhinha---Gray-------------------
--------------------------Xavi---------------------------
Odobert--------Richarlison-----------Tel

Sub: Brooke
3-2

Odobert
Gray
Xavi
Tel

Scarlett
Richy

Have to say I do like that front 6...

I'd rather we went out of the Champions League to give us much needed rest. We have zero chance of winning it and being in the Europe seems to be far more disruptive to our season than a weekend FA Cup game.

I think we've actually got more chance of winning the CL than the FAC. We won't play a team as good as Villa for a few rounds anyway.

So zero chance.
We can beat Villa, they're good but not that good. Should have beat them at home in the league but they scored 2 great goals.
and I honestly think they will rotate quite heavily today too, will defo load up the bench

Confirmed/Reported Fitness & Availability (Villa):
  • Emiliano Martínez is out after withdrawing at half-time in the midweek draw with Crystal Palace; Marco Bizot is expected to start in goal.
  • Amadou Onana remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
  • Tyrone Mings is not expected to start (hamstring) but may be available late if passed fit.
  • Evann Guessand is absent due to Africa Cup of Nations duty.
  • Ross Barkley is injured and unavailable.
Likely Starters/Key Considerations:

Villa typically report no suspensions for this fixture.
  • Players such as Ian Maatsen, Donyell Malen and Emi Buendia could be in the starting XI after playing midweek.
  • Defensive shape may be adjusted due to absentees at the back.

Opposition Context (Tottenham):
  • Spurs will be missing Cristian Romero due to an FA ban, and other first-team injuries/suspensions may weaken them.

Summary of Villa injuries/absences:
  • Out: Emiliano Martínez, Amadou Onana, Ross Barkley, Evann Guessand
  • Doubtful/late fitness: Tyrone Mings
  • Likely starters returning: Ian Maatsen, Donyell Malen, Emi Buendia (after midweek contributions)

Looks like Udogie might be involved in the squad today

Madness, CL glory or playing against PL b teams? only ever one answer mate.

European nights are different, it's the last refuge of atmosphere at the ground.
