*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa FC ***

Johnny nice-tits
Date : Sunday 3rd November 2024
Kick Off : 14.00pm

Few injuries ahead of this game with no VDV and possibly no Sonny/Werner/Romero

Vicario
Porro Romero Dragusin Udogie
Bissouma Bentacur Kulu
Johnson Solanke Richy

Will be an incredibly tough game against a very good Villa team
Will take a huge effort from all involved

Am going for either a 2-1 win or a 2-2 draw

I wonder if there will be some rotation from the start. Udogie, Kulusevski, Johnson and Solanke have played a lot. Romero and Werner (if available) had to come off against City.

Not a lot of options for most of those. But starting all of them may end up with us low on energy in this one. And it's one where we'll probably need a lot of energy.

Close to your team Mark, but I'd go:

Vicario
Porro Romero Dragusin Regulion
Bissouma Bentancur Kulu
Johnson Solanke Richy

I'm worried Udogie is being overplayed and is tempting an injury too much. Obviously Spence LB preferred if he makes it fitness wise.

Davies for me.

Do you not remember when we had to play him there near the end of last season and how we was royally skinned by the likes of Saka??
If we were playing quite a low-block it would make sense, but in our relatively high-line? Suicide

Davies also played against Villa last season in the November loss. They piled their big men forward for set pieces, ate Ben up and spat him out. He was incredibly ordinary against Watkins and Diaby in open play as well.

Villa would be the last team I would put Davies in the line-up against. Pao Torres will be rubbing his hands together from set pieces.

I don't think Ange considers him as a LB at all now. Hence playing vdV there ahead of him during the week. He's a CB now and that's it.
As opposed to Reguilon, who he doesn't even consider? Ange's go-to to replace Udogie has been Spence. The only other player to get time there is VdV or Davies, so he was obviously considered then.

When did Davies last play LB for us? I might have misremembered/missed one, but I don't remember it for a long time.

Tottenham Hotspur will host Aston Villa in a Premier League clash this Sunday at 2pm GMT at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Here's a preview of the match:

Tottenham Hotspur

  • Recent Form: Spurs are coming off a morale-boosting victory over Emirates Marketing Project in the Carabao Cup, but they suffered a disappointing defeat to Crystal Palace in their last Premier League match.
  • Key Players: Timo Werner, Pape Sarr, and Heung-min Son are expected to play, adding much-needed verve to the lineup.
  • Injuries: Micky van de Ven is likely to miss the match due to a hamstring injury, and Wilson Odobert is confirmed out.

Aston Villa

  • Recent Form: Villa had a slight hiccup against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup but have been strong on the road this season, winning five and drawing one of their six away matches.
  • Key Players: Unai Emery's side is expected to field a robust lineup, with players like Ollie Watkins and Emi Martínez in good form.
  • Injuries: Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton are expected to play despite recent injuries.

Match Prediction

The match is expected to be a close contest, with both teams looking to bounce back from recent setbacks. Tottenham leads the historical head-to-head with 78 wins to Villa's 60, but the current form suggests a tough outing for Spurs.

I agree, i always liked Reguilion and think he is a good player but he does seem of the table to play.

What's interesting is in the last month he's been featured a lot more in training/team stuff, and seems quite happy .. not sure if there is a plan there

Maybe but unless there has been a fall out behind doors i can see no reason why he should not be selected in the squad. Udogie has been off form for a few games now and i would rather see Reggie given a chance to show his form.

AI is good isn't it, Eze and Wharton to start for Villa

Ah good old AI, soon to run the universe yet can't comprehend Eze and Wharton don't play for Aston Villa. We are in safe hands....

This is going to be a seriously tough game. I’d take the draw if offered. Villa are strong

Is Spence available? If so, I'd have him at LB.

Villa will be amped up for this match after the 4-0 spanking we so soundly administered last spring.
