***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal***

El Guepardo

Rafael Van Der Vaart
What: our second match of the season against that overrated brick down the road
Competition: Premier League
Date: Wednesday 15th January
Time: 8pm UK time
Venue: Emirates Stadium

With the FA Cup match out of the way we turn our attention back to the Premier League and a key NLD. I wanted to start this OMT early as it’s time we get back serious this season. It’s always late OMTs with a day or so to go and really that effort is as poor as our FA Cup display. We need to do more, we need to be more, both as a team and as supporters. To be the best that we can be and that starts now and with a significant performance v Arsenal on Wedneday night. Cooooooooommmmmmeeeeeee Ooooonnnnnnn Yooooouuuuuuuuu Spppppppuuuuuurrrrrssssssss

I was saying before yesterday's game that a good performance against Tamworth, demonstrating the gulf in class between our two sides, by its nature probably couldn't do a lot to enhance the sense of optimism engendered by the League Cup semi-final first leg win over Liverpool last week, but that a poor one could probably go a long way towards wrecking it, and although there was eventually an air of respectability about the scoreline, I doubt very many would try and claim it was greatly merited by what transpired on the pitch. With that in mind, the furthest I'm prepared to go here is to say I think it'll depend which of Spurs' Jekyll and Hyde personalities show up on Wednesday night. Perhaps we were pacing ourselves at the Lamb.

Heart says we can stun them; head says they will railroad us with set-pieces and win 2-0 or 3-1.

Porro seems completely spent. Bergvall just edging Sarr on form. Richy for the aggression. Moore to unpick the low block

Don't think we'll start Moore (17 years old, one PL start, just back from a lengthy illness) or Richarlison (just back from injury and potentially now injury prone) in the NLD.

I think Sarr is more likely than Bergvall too. Bergvall has been better than Sarr recently, but this is a better game for Sarr than some of his recent starts and a bit more experience for a game like this is useful.

Also think Ange will start Porro and Spence.

Kulusevski or Johnson right wing, depending on that Maddison in midfield or not is the biggest question imo Think Kulusevski right wing and Maddison in midfield with Johnson playing the full game against Tamworth and this being a better game for Kulusevski on the right would be my guess.

Though I think we could see Bergvall start too, between him and Sarr, probably close.

Hope Bissouma keeps his good run going, really need that.

Hoping that part of his (and the team's) underwhelming performance against Tamworth was not putting the full effort in and he'll be fresher than he would be had that been a game against a top side.

It will be great if this is true. I’m not sure, though; the man from Zara had him running here, there and everywhere, especially in the first half.

Playing on a different surface is likely to have taken it out of his (and the team’s) legs too.

Yep, and the challenge is that Reggie, Porro, Gray, Biss and Johnson played 120 mins, whilst Ange only subbed Dragu, Madds and Werner on 90 mins. Therefore, instead of only 5 outfield players having to complete 90 mins we had 8, plus 5 doing an extra 30 mins, with all that being on a foreign surface.

I think we have enough rotation options in midfield and attack to share the 90 mins. It will be the defence where it bites.

I guess we must remember that they also played 120 mins and made their subs later than we did. Key players like Odegard and Havertz will be feeling it.

Think a game against another big team and ending up on the losing end will take more out of them than us playing 120 against Tamworth. But we were probably more fatigued going into that game.

Agree that in midfield and with our forwards we have options. Potentially only Bissouma who played 120 against Tamworth starting.

Dedenders and particularly Porro the biggest concern for physical stuff. Young Gray perhaps for the mental side, but he seems like a mature lad that pretty much just deals with whatever happens brilliantly so far.
