*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v AFC Bournemouth ***

I don't expect both VDV and Romero to start, and I wouldn't be surprised if Solanke isn't available for this game.

Vicario
Porro Danso CB Spence
Bissouma Bentancur
Bergvall
Odobert Tel Son
One of VDV or Romero to start
Gray to come on in CM 2nd half

Honestly, I would start Moore over Son at the moment as well.

So why didn't you? It is YOUR selection :p

Press Conference Summary: Ange Postecoglou – Pre-Bournemouth Match

Squad Update & Injuries

  • Dominic Solanke: Suffered a knock to the backside; too early to determine availability for Sunday.
  • Ben Davies: Training but uncertain for Sunday; decision to be made in the next 24-48 hours.
  • Micky van de Ven & Cristian Romero: Were not risked against Alkmaar due to poor pitch conditions but are in contention for Sunday's match.

Reflections on Alkmaar Defeat

  • Spurs did not perform at the required level and the team is disappointed.
  • Emphasized collective responsibility, rather than individual blame.
  • Recognizes the difficulty of playing away in Europe but insists it wasn’t an excuse.
  • The tie is still open with the second leg at home next week.

Focus on Bournemouth Match

  • Postecoglou welcomes the game as a chance to move past the disappointment of Alkmaar and improve squad fitness.
  • Spurs’ recent league form has been decent, and they aim to continue positive momentum.
  • Performance is as important as the result, especially ahead of the return leg against Alkmaar.

Inconsistency & Mentality Challenges

  • Spurs have struggled with inconsistency this season, with a significant gap between their best and worst performances.
  • Postecoglou acknowledges a lack of aggression and hesitancy in possession against Alkmaar.
  • Believes inconsistency stems partly from frequent lineup changes but also from the need for a stronger mindset.
  • Stresses the importance of adapting to different challenges in each competition.

Tactical Philosophy & Player Commitment

  • Reaffirms commitment to his attacking football philosophy, despite recent struggles.
  • Insists that players must show conviction and belief in the system, especially in difficult moments.
  • Dismisses any doubts about the squad's clarity on tactics, emphasizing the need for resolve and determination.

Vicario’s Gesture Post-Match

  • Addresses social media speculation regarding Guglielmo Vicario waving at fans post-match.
  • Describes Vicario as a passionate and pure-hearted player who deeply cares about the club.
  • Dismisses any negative interpretations of his actions.

Bournemouth Challenge

  • Bournemouth have been impressive this season under Andoni Iraola.
  • They play an aggressive, high-intensity style, which Spurs will need to be prepared for.
  • Spurs must deliver a strong performance to get the desired result.

Conclusion

Postecoglou remains focused on consistency, mindset, and squad rotation as Spurs navigate a crucial stretch in both the Premier League and Europa League. The Bournemouth game is seen as an opportunity to bounce back, refine their approach, and regain momentum before the return leg against Alkmaar.

Didn't see the AZ game but sounds terrible by all accounts.
Would take a draw if offered it but can only see a Bournemouth win (and I'm usually positive!)
That it's come to this...faint hope of a draw at HOME v Bournemouth, dearie me
They will run us ragged
Their full backs with have a field day and unless we parlay a CF we just see the ball come back time after time

i like iraola's football much better than angeball.

i also think iraola will outsmart postecoglu so i think we lose this by a few goals but we will score.

yeah we have senior players back - the excuse will be they are rusty and the team needs time to gel

oh - they have been doing well recently

My ticket hasn't sold on the Exchange and I'll do something I've never done when I've had a ticket: stay home and ignore the game.
A front 3 of Son, Tel and Johnson wouldn't frighten a pub team, and unless Maddison decides to show up bit time, I fear we will get horribly beaten.

Heard a few similar stories. I wonder if there will be a few empty seats tomorrow.
