Yep the wage bill also must have took a big hit. Personally i think Pav was a big miss and Gomes had one very good season and the rest poor/average so he's in the ok category.
Point being Ramos (or Comolli or whoever is in charge of spending at that time) blew our money big time that season.
Can anyone get one of Clints celebration, he does a mini irish jig in the middle of it.
I thought he gave us a bit of drive and pressed well up the left and gave us a natural left footed crossing angles from that side of the pitch. Utd had closed any space for bale to get in, so it was an important sub.
Also thought he added a bit of presence to the team.
Most people will have shot where Lennon passed - Lennon is just orgasmic and love him
I think Utd got their tactics all wrong. The commentators even mentioned that they set up to be defensive and then break us down and hit us on the break. But because of this style they never got really going attacking wise. When they did really go at us at times we looked a bit fragile and were pulled apart by their movement.
I missed the end of game blurb, what happened between Redknapp and Neville?
Funny on redcafe its all about how brick bale was and how the officials cost them, nothing at all about lennon
I wonder if Levy can get Joe Lewis to actually release some funds? We have one of the richer owners in the Prem who has not actually put a real penny in. I don't want stupid spending, but right now would be the time to give Levy the dough to give to AVB...heart-breaking to think of the money frittered away by others when we had it (what on earth were Comolli and Ramos thinking with 17 mill for Bentley for example?!!!!)...
Neville knows that Jamie is clueless and Jamie knows that Gary knows.
I wonder how they would rate Van Persie. It sounds stupid to say but despite the goal what did he do all game. And Clints celebration was a lot better than his stick his tongue out and twirl aswell.
I did think Neville was wrong about Man Utd giving the perfect performance. We had some very good chances and should have won by a few, whereas they just sat back and hardly done anything
I think they did get it wrong. But as I said before the game I didn't think they'd beat us. And all the negativity and defeatism, couldn't agree with it all. We're one of the best teams in the country at home to the best team in the country, the idea they would win easily, brush us aside, whatever, never bought into it.
Linesman to the United players: Go and applaud your fans, they've spent £2.70 on the Tube to get here.
