There will be 100 corporate/education events in the area too, also with out of town visitors and attendances in 4 figures, double that if Dresden is covered by the order, 1000 people gatherings are pretty small, thats your average rush hour central line train.

Why should they compensate Spurs fans but not someone who has traveled the length of the country and booked a fancy hotel to go to a concert?

I don't know the first thing about the split of powers between local and national government in Germany and I suspect you don't either. Maybe wait until we know more before saying who can do what.

Yeah
It’s up to them to control the situation and that’s cool but you cannot do it on such short notice without knock on effects that their accountable for
It’s all about being reasonable and the EU laws are all about that

i know what I’ve read
I also know how governments work currently advising government of some things
The station is such that cancelling events at short notice has knock on effects that their accountable for

And from my experience of travelling to Germany for footy and work they wouldn’t make calls that meant 3000 football fans had no game to go too... and not manage the consequences
 
Public health trumps everything else.

Is it reasonable to expect compensation when the worst thing thats happened to you is that you don't get to see a football match in person?

They are not stopping you flying in or staying in a hotel*, if that happened you'd probably be covered.

*Not that we know exactly what the decision is yet.

You've known about this for a few hours and the information is sketchy. You are speculating about what is happening and assuming that the German government will respond as if this was a normal situation. I think that we'd all be best served by shutting up until we know more.

Look at what I posted first

I said their talk (speculation)

then I said the government would have left the decision too late
 
The UK will probably be in the same situation in a week's time. I wouldn't be surprised if Man Utd was the last game of the season that we can attend in person.

If the magnitude is right
I’ve been at a game with a terrorist threat (sure plenty of older heads would have too as it was at the Lane)

The issue here so timing...

As milo says above the United game may be the last one allowed here and if so then fine, but don’t tell us the day before when it’s for for preventative measures and people are already there so at risk and also gathering in large groups

Same here, i remember a cup game against Forest when we were all held outside the ground while the bomb squad searched inside after getting a bomb threat. It was tinkling down as well.

No one is saying that it isn't a bummer but I am certain that there won't be any compensation should it happen. A government's first responsibility is to protect its citizens and if the advice is that this is necessary to contain the spread, it is the right thing to do.

Then of course they should act
But acting after people are already coming doesn’t stop the issue
And to then cancel it on people without compensation means people will travel and gather too rather than lose their money
If they said something yesterday it could have nipped it in the bud in advance
No one can say they don’t know the issues now as it’s one very 5 minutes of tv and media and that includes ALL governments
I’m not going by the way as I’m in a meeting ok Tuesday with the UK Government on something else
