***OMT - SPURS vs Chelsea***

We were fudging shocking with the ball, Dier kept giving the ball away with stupid passes and everyone was trying to much with the ball as if they didn't even want to win the game. Said i would take a draw but that was the most negative play i have ever seen a Spurs team play.

Is this your first season watching us? :D

Rodon said:
"those mistakes aren't acceptable".
Agreed; twice Rodon put the ball on a plate for them.

He was SOOO lucky that the first was scored and was offside, whereas the second was missed but onside.

He did well in general but started and ended atrociously.

Dier was also poor. And Sissoko. And Kane/Son did VERY little.

@milo through a process of elimination I'd say Reggie and Aurier were our best

The first came from Sissoko slipping over I think.

Didn't lose. All that mattered. Could have won right at the death, could have lost right at the death, but ended up with a good point away to Chelsea.

Interesting that we knew what would happen on here with Kante sticking to Kane like a flu to essentially mark him out of the game, vastly limiting our ability to break.

Bit befuddled by Bergwijn's role. He must be doing a tactical job of some sort, but he's just been disappointing this entire season, and today was more of the same. Works hard, but very limited, and slower than I thought.

Defense a little shakier than usual with Rodon in for Toby, but *also* with Dier playing some absolutely awful passes. Highlight was him striding purposefully out with the ball with no one pressing him for 30 seconds, looking up, considering his pass...and beautifully, perfectly wafting a ball *straight* to the surprised Chelsea player 5m in front of him, leading to a breakaway from which they almost scored.

Reguilon, Lloris and Hojbjerg good. Aurier, Rodon, Sissoko solid. Ndombele, Dier and Son acceptable. Kane and Bergwijn a bit anonymous. The point, a good point.

And we go on. :)

One of those quieter affair games where the teams appeared too cautious not to over commit. There were very few serious chances for either side. The best chance arguably Giroud’s late effort.

A draw at Stamford Bridge though is a solid result. A lot on here expected us to have lost the match. We are back top, and home against Arsenal next.

We’re in a good place, let’s keep this going!!

Chelsea nothing special? You're probably thinking of their first few games. They're a different team now. It's going to be between us, them, and Lollerpool for the title.
Nothing special today. They showed the grand total of fudge all. We were very under colour today and yet Chelsea did very little.

The more I listen to Keane, the more I agree about us winning the league. I think we will be up there and should finish within 6-8 points of the top 2 but I think Kane and son are gonna have to carry us if we are going to win the league. That means both of them staying fit and maintaining the standards they have displayed so far (except for today, both were anonymous).

@nayenezgani agree re Hasselbaink. Not afraid to say it like it is and talks sense.

I think they were and we did have chances

SB had 2 chances, till the Giroud header the best chance of the game

Son had a couple and didn’t shoot

Chelsea are as, if not as free scoring as we are atm

if we don’t finish high in the league it won’t be because of getting a point at Chelsea instead of 3.

We had the first half and they had the second half.
So in a way, one might say it was a game of two halfs/halves?

Stevei B's role seems, to my untrained eye, to primarily press and exert pressure as part of Jose's low possession plan, and then secondarily, to be an attacking option. It looks like he's still settling into this squad and this league, and with more work will be a more potent weapon going forwards.

Most pundits have this "Take Kane and Son out of the team, and Spurs are nothing" attitude.
Yeah, take the two best players out of any team, and low and behold, they will not be as good as they are with them!
Take Salah and Mane out of victims, De Breune and Aguero out of City. They're not the same teams without those.
It's a ridiculous way of looking at it, and that argument is ONLY used against us.

Was surprised Moura didn’t come on for Bergy earlier as a fresher non yellow card like for like but other than that not sure what else we could have done to try and take control of a game without increasing the risk of conceding.

Agree with this summation.

Would have liked to have seen Bale given at least 15 minutes to try and win this game.
