OMT *** Spurs vs Bin Dippers ***

With the majority of results going our way and now a chance to capitalise i’m sure you all know how this ends.

We have absolutely bottled these situations so far this season. Time to make a statement.

This game will come down to whether Son takes the two decent chances he will get.
If Son puts in a 9/10 performance we will win. If it's a 7/10 we won't.
It's not Son's fault. But the way we set up in big games is completely reliant on him scoring from every sniff of a chance we get.

It'll help though if victims's forwards put in another 5 or 6 out of 10 performance

How many chances and the quality of those chances again comes down to Kane and Ndombele in particular.

Son taking the chances he's at least likely to get is one path to victory for us, but we do have others.

Reguilon and perhaps also Davies missing will be big losses if reports are to be believed. If both are out I guess it's Tanganga? Or Aurier with Doherty on the right? Big questions to be asked either way.

Will be interesting to see how we line up. I'm guessing Sissoko and Hojbjerg centrally, Bergwijn back in, but Mourinho's surprised us before.

I'm unusually optimistic about this evening. They're missing VVD and Gomez and haven't been playing well, or scoring many. It should be an opportunity.

I'd like to think that Kane, Son, Bergwijn and Tubby can get at their defence enough for us to bag a couple over 90 mins. As long as we don't make individual errors, I'm confident. Really don't need an Aurier-special this evening...

The Footballing Gods smiled on us last night. We need to offer up the Fatted Scouse to them in sacrifice, hung up, throat slit and laid quivering on the South Stand Altar!

Verts can play LB

Not just Son, Kane as well. He has missed some very good ones as well.

I'm optimistic about us making it at least a close game, but that's as far as my optimism goes for a game like this. Then our will be up to finishing and a bit of luck to decide if we get the result we want or not.

There's no reason why it shouldn't be a close game. It's not like the two teams are miles apart. It's just a matter of whether we will play up to our potential and I see no reason why we wouldn't. Under Jose we show up for the big games. It's the midtable teams that we think we can cruise through.

They have lost 2 and drew 1 scoring 0 goals in the premier league so far this year. I don’t want to be that guy but we will either win 2 or 3 - 0 or we are going to get spanked 4-0.

Can’t we think of ways to expose Robertson and TAA defensively, give them something to think about, instead of being defensive and worried about what they can do.
I think we can do both.

If the plan is to stop them from attacking by leaving more players higher up the pitch I'm not convinced at all.

Could think that as victims are a bit short on form and confidence we should take the game to them more, try to have more possession, put them under pressure. But I see no real reason to think that their form means that our standard approach for big games would be less effective. They've had three disappointing results in a row now, all while dominating possession to various degrees.

The plan isn’t to stop them being more attacking. The plan is to make them think about us. I understand the cautious approach of being defensive, but, why should we pick a team that’s simply there to defend against victims? Why don’t we send out a team to be brave, to attack, to hit victims’s vulnerabilities. victims have been playing with two midfielders as centre backs, and full backs who are more attacking than defensive. If today isn’t a day to go out on the front foot, then I suggest people adapt to the sitting back mentality and stop whingeing when we stop playing after we score once.
