Good win in the end; a bit worrying that we conceded some good opportunities but perhaps more worrying was our wastefulness in front of goal in the first half. We will have to be FAR more clinical on Monday night and we also cannot concede some of the territory we did, otherwise we'll get nil as we usually do at OT.

However, i was impressed with how we in the end 'ground out' our win and Pochettino again gets good credit for his use of the subs at key times in the game.

Oh and Harry has his August monkey off his back:)
Just the "Old Trafford monkey" to shoot down next.

COYS

have we not dispersed of said monkey, it feels like we win there all the time now, even sherwood did it
We've won there twice in the past five years, so not too bad.

Some memory recall needed methinks....

2012/13: Won 3-2 under AVB
2013/14: Won 2-1 Under Sherwood
2014/15: lost 3-0
2015/16: lost 1-0
2016/17: lost 1-0
2017/18: lost 1-0

One of the biggest blots on Poch's tenure is having not even SCORED A GOAL at Old Trafford, even Sherwood did that!

Oh yeah, the 3-2 was in 2012, thought it was 2013. No goals even from a Poch side, eh? Damn, that's poor. Time to rectify that!

Good to start the season with 2 wins. But we still need to improve our performance. We started and finished the match well but we struggled in between. Fulham had too many goal scoring chances including hitting out post. It was annoying to concede another easy goal. We too need to be more clinical in front of goal. Let's hope we will improve as the season progresses.

Well done to Moura, Trippier and Kane for the goals. All 3 were well-taken goals. Moura did well to score a brilliant goal to put us in front. It was a brilliant freekick from Trippier to score our second goal. Amazingly, it was the first time we have scored direct from the freekick in the league since Eriksen scored against Swansea in October 2015 ! Annoyingly, Eriksen has wasted hundreds of freekicks during that 4 year period. So, Trippier should be our freekick taker from now on. It was also great to see Kane scoring his first ever goal in August. Lamela should get the credit for assisting Kane's goal with a brilliant dribble and run through the entire Fulham defence and midfield.

Our midfield had a mixed match. Thought our midfield were poor until Dembele and Lamela came on. I think we badly miss having Wanyama and Dembele being fully fit. For all his hard work, Dier simply doesn't cover the midfield as much as Wanyama or Dembele covers. Let's hope Wanyama and Dembele will be fully fit to start together soon.

Our defence have not been fully convincing in both the matches so far. It was annoying to concede another easy goal. It was great to see Alderweireld starting with Vertonghen and Sanchez in defence. But Alderweireld looked rusty after not playing much for us last season. Wish we will sort out Alderweireld's contract soon. Felt Lloris could have done better for their goal but he did make a few good saves.

It is morale-boosting to win both our 2 matches of the season so far. But we still need to improve our finishing and defending for the upcoming matches. Let's hope we will play much better when we play ManU away next.
