He won't be as good as the best player in the world. Setting a high bar for critisicr.

Which is why I said ‘anywhere near’.

Apparently he was quite good in the youth teams around the opposition box but he isn’t really for us. I’d like to see more from him in that sense if he is to be spoken of as someone with potential to be a genuinely big time player. If he’s just going to be a better Tom Carroll, that’s fine too, but I assume Poch is going to want to see him continue to improve. He has the talent to be better, he just needs more composure against better defenders.

Kane gets thousands of minutes more game time than Lorente does and even Kane needs several matches at least before he looks like he’s getting in the swing of things so it’s going to be much harder for a guy who gets on a good day ten minutes off the bench. And Kane constantly needs a handful of chances to score one himself so....

So all he needs is comparable minutes and he'll deliver like Harry does? Let's hope that's the case, as Harry might be missing a few games and we've no Son either.

So

Kane
Moura
Sissoko
Demeble
Dier
Wanyama
Son ( away)

All injured or away. Gosh it will take a miracle to keep winning. What a shame but it's typical spurs. Something always goes wrong.

So why not flag Alli, Kane, Llorente as we could have easily won that with some accurate finishing? Too easier to pin it all on Trippier for an intercepted pass. It wasn't good, the pass shouldn't have been made, but Tripper is being spacegoated.

That's the nature of the game though, defenders and keepers are paid primarily to protect the goal. Part of that is playing safer passes, percentage passes and when errors are made, cutting them out of your game, not consistently repeating them. Case in point, look at how Lloris rushes out more conservatively now and kicks longer.

If Tripper has someone to pass to, then he's not forced into that. We were outnumbered at the back, and Sissoko wasn't there to help out. If Poch subs on Sanchez, or tells Alli or Eriksen to sit infront of the back 4 until half time, we've covered, get to HT and regroup. Easy to say in hidsight. I saw Lamela make a woeful pass, it didn't result in a goal against us - but if it did would people be saying 'sell him' etc? Likewise Eriksen misplaced a few.

Would be very unlike Tripper to pass it back wouldn’t it

It’s not spacegoating. We lost 1-0. His mistake was the major reason behind United’s goal from our point of view. Therefore he’s responsible. Kane, Alli and Llorente should all have dug him out of the hole but it was his fault.

The problem is that his mistakes cost us big games. Look at the City game earlier in the season. Terrible stuff. Even look at Wolves where we luckily got out with a win.

He’s a liability.

Brighton - they missed a sitter after a brain fart from him at 1-0

I'm not a massive fan of his. But he's asked to attack, so there is going to be space for the opposition. It was a forced passed. He didn't have options. And there has to be a spacegoat right? I think its a bit unfair on him. Yes it was a bad pass, and we lost the game.

Watch it again
He tried a high risk pass and executed it poorly

I am picking on him because he is consistently average. Kane has been a GHod for us, that's why I don't criticise him. He will likely get 20 league goals for the 5th season running.

Still, maybe I'm wrong about Llorente. And with Harry and Son out, Llorente will come in, start games and score loads and maybe win us games in the way that Kane and Son do. I don't see it though, unfortunately.

How can someone who doesn’t play be consistently average.

I don’t rate him, he’s not suited - but calling him out in a miss today is just weird.

Difference is he doesn’t make that error and it’s 0-0

Exactly. If it's 0-0 and you miss a chance, it's still 0-0. If it's 0-0 and you phuck up at the back, you're 0-1 down and chasing. Right before half-time as well, just as Sissoko has gone off. It seems like Trippier lacks some common sense at times, because surely that is a moment in the game to play the percentages?

And as others have said, it's not the first time from him.

On this we agree sir.

I dunno if this is true. - seems legit

Trippier created 5 chances for United from directly passing to their players.

5 fudging chances for the opposition.

As I said to someone else, it just frustrates me that we are chasing a goal, missing chances, and he comes on and misses some more. And I pick on him because he never does anything, as opposed to Kane and Dele who have actually won big games for us in the past.

I agree to disagree or whatever coz it's a silly thing for us to go on and on about. Today was a phucking annoying day, we never should have lost this game, but there we go.

That can't be right, can it? @SteveAWOL usually comes up with the stats via twitter, over to you statto!

I'm trying to think of 5 occasions he did that. 2nd half we just seemed mostly in their half, maybe he turned it over when we attacked and they broke a couple of times, not sure though.
