Nobody else here may play it, but the US Civ 5 expansion came out on the 9th, and the Civ 5 expansion came out in Europe on the 12th. Why?
It can't have anything to do with helping the servers cope, or Steam would have realised the European release was scheduled on the same date as the start of their 'super saver' deals. Which seem to have caused the servers to meltdown.
In the day and age of 'always online' over the parts of the world that would use these video games, why do they still have staggered releases? What does it even gain them apart from the irritation of whichever group of customers happens to be the latter for release?
