Not yet. It's a 50/50 at best as to whether he takes the ball with him or leaves it behind. Everytime I see him his ball retention is poor, Lennon and Bale will often pass it back if nothings on but Townsend just does a bit of an Obertan imo.

Not saying he won't play for us, but he needs more time to develop

I hope he gets a chance, he played well in the FA Cup game, then got sent on loan then Lennon got injured straight away and we had nobody in the squad to replace him

surely it is essential for the future of this club to spend time and develop players like Kane than critise him seeing him in preseason games. There are too many FM managers on this site who just want to sign the latest youtube Carlos Kickaball. After years of watching poor football and ahving no chance of competing with the top teams we have developed a half decent side playing good football, the only thing that has not improved is the fans, just a bunch of moaners no different than the Sky 4 fans

It's his decision making that has to improve IMHO.

It tends to with experience. But I think he's at the stage where loaning him out to a lower league team is below him.

And whilst we could loan him to another PL club for 6 months to a year, I think he's good enough to provide an option for us....

Only hope he gets the chance in league cup and Europa. If he plays in the league then we have problems as it means Bale or Lennon are out. TOwnsend isnt PL level and may well never be. We cant be playing youngsters for the hell of it as we'll need every point we can get this year
 
why hasnt AVB given Adebayor, Lewandowski and Niang and run out....no point keeping them on the bench
