Tottenham Hotspur @SpursOfficial
Our starting line-up at Southend - Ryan; Smith, Hall, Ekong, Rose; Carroll, Mason; Falque, Kane, Townsend; Coulibaly
Anyone know if this guy's first name is Jim? :-k
Went to game tonight and overall very impressed with the team. Their passing and movement was much better than I was expecting. Although it was only one game it appeared that we had a 'style' that everyone was trying to play to..
Ryan - Great handling, came and took some high crosses under pressure from the Millwall forwards.
Smith - Quick, solid enough with the ball. Didnt do anything wrong..
Ekong - Impressive against experience in Eastwood & Harris - Quick and comfortable on the ball
Hall - Also Impressive against experience in Eastwood & Harris
Rose - Was expecting a bit more from him. Linked well with Townsend but once or twice gave me the impression he didn't want to be there. Looked a little off the pace.
Carroll - Great little player, yes he is lightweight but he has the footballing brain and his ability also delivers most of the time. Only obvious fault was he cant shoot to save his life. Expect him to have a big Spurs future though.
Mason - Another that impressed me, Captain on the night. Big effort from him, moved around the pitch well and retained the ball. Also did well to win possession a number of times.
Falque - Tidy enough player, not a huge impact tonight though.
Kane - MOM for me. Looked technically much better than when with the 1st team. Finishing excellent, dropped deeper than I expected and all round game very good.
Townsend - Biggest threat most of the night, didn't always come off but he keeps going at his man time after time which creates..
Coulibaly - Great finish from a tight angle for his goal. Not involved loads but comes alive in the box. Brave in a number of challenges that others would have pulled out from.
I think you will find that all leave has been canceled until after the ParaOlympics. I have a friend who has been moved to live in Barracks with a little break in between the two games.
So on the 1st September, there will be full stadium for the Athletics, full aquatic centre, full copper box as well as full velodrome.
And thats not even involving the outside of the Olympic park like Excel, Woolwich Barracks for the shooting and Archery, Weymouth for the saling, rowing at Eton Dorney and Equestrian at Greenwich.
There is just as many venues being used on the 1st September as there has been during the able bodied games. The only thing there isn't is there is no Olympic football, but I'll counter the two or three games of that, with a full programme of the English football league.
And there is home games on for West Ham, as well as Us.
It will be interesting to see what TV coverage is given of it though.
The Paralympics is smaller than the Olympics but obviously it is still a significant drain on the polices resources.
There were 43 Olympic venues and there will be 23 Paralympic venues. You can see here that there are more Olympic than Paralympic sports too.
But there are several classes of impairment within each sport. The lower the number, the greater the impact of the impairment. 11 means blind, more or less, and require guides to run with them, while 13 have partial vision.
Classes 11–13 are for athletes with a visual impairment.
Class 20 is for athletes with an intellectual impairment.
Classes 31–38 are for athletes with cerebral palsy, with classes 31 to 34 using a wheelchair to compete in track events or throw from a seated position in field events.
Classes 40–46 are for athletes with an impairment that affects their arms or legs, including amputees.
Classes 51–58 cover wheelchair racers or field athletes who throw from a seated position.
