**Official Other Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

So many Talk Sport, tabloid talking, reactionists on here these days...Its always all on or we got no chance. We got 6 games and you might guess we need 4 wins, that will give us a chance. Im sure thats what AVB will be telling them, forget the other teams. Get caught up in the hype every time arse or chelsea drop a point or win a game then we have no chance. 4 wins minimum, give ourselfs a chance, if we dont get the first one versus city then we move on a we make sure we get it verses wigan. We are in the position of underdog but thats where we are our best, its actually in our hands but the press and the goons and alot of you lot it seems have written us off...Football being football that kind of makes me think we might just do it! COYS

im honestly not so sure. the league is its weakest for years.

It is? I look at Liverpool's team for example and think that would be a title challenging team 5 years ago. Now it barely scrapes in the top half. You've got Saudi Sportswashing Machine packed full of French and African internationals a few points above relegation...I could go on...

100% agree.
There so many teams with no backbone who will rollover once they go a goal down.
On another day when things are going their way they'll look like world beaters.

Teams like Norwich on Saturday and Fulham tonight.

To be fair, Norwich were shat on by the officials somewhat

There will be plenty of surprises yet. Whether they go our way or not is another matter.

Exactly. We just have to do our job. We could get a right touch on saturday if Arsenal drop points at Fulham and Liverpool get something out of Chelsea. But then we have to do our part and win against City. If we can just do that then these dropped points elsewhere are almost worth double.

We dont have to win against City. A win would be great but in the context of our run-in and with Bale/Lennon either out or only just coming back from injury, a point would be a decent result. There's also got to be a pretty decent chance that a point wouldnt mean that we dont lose ground to chelsea or arse either and I still prefer our final 5 games to theirs.

Also, after 'only' drawing against Everton, there's got to be a lot more pressure on Arse as well for the Fulham game considering they have Utd next up and a game where Utd might be able to clinch the title - failing to beat Fulham on Saturday would mean there's a high probability that they will go 3 consecutive games without a win....and even then they go to QPR in their next game who might have to get a win that day in order to not be relegated

I would happily take a point for each of us, Arse and chelsea this weekend

I know that we don't have to win against City but in the context of Arsenal and Chelsea dropping points at the weekend then not getting 3 points would probably be a terrible waste. I think my point was more that Spurs being how they are, will still throw away a good chance to gain ground even when results have gone our way elsewhere so really for once we need to concentrate fully on ourselves and do our job and if we get a touch elsewhere then fantastic.

we do have to beat city, we need the psychological boost and the momentum, anything less and we let arsenal off the hook for tuesday (not that drawing with everton is a hook, but if we beat city it will feel like one)

If you're saying that we 'have to' beat City then you're implying that if we don't then we cant realistically get a top 4 finish. Of course it would be good to beat them however considering the Bale/Lennon situation (and even if they play they're bound to be a bit tentative with their injuries) then a point is a perfectably acceptable result.

The games we 'have to' win are the ones against the teams which we should on paper beat in teh coming weeks; and of course we cant really afford to lose at chelsea

Can't believe Fulham got beat after the way they started and the way they played.

a wonder goal from nothing and a sucker header. gutted.

gotta knock the stuffing out of them which isn't good for the gooner game.

i think we need to win them all now or its 5th place
