I finally got to see Midsommar. Enjoyable movie overall, but also completely stupid in so many ways it made me want to turn it off many times. But oh well.

No love for Sinners, thought it was decent. Well acted, tight storyline, and good special effects.

Not sure about the storyline. The atmosphere and acting where great, but i thought the narrative and the message got a bit clouded.

What were the vampires metaphors for? Racists shutting down an independent black community? Puritans shutting down a rave?

The character who had been passing was also touched upon but not really explored.

Coogler is a great director. This wouldnt have meant to be simply a Dusk til Dawn genre mash

Watched latest Captain America last night. Like an episode of your bog standard tv series where very little happens and then it's over. Nothing good about it whatsoever. It just felt cheap and pointless.

Watching the Thunderbolts tonight just underlines it. You get to know the characters, the action scenes are good and make sense as part of the story. Amazing what some good writing can do instead of rushing from one set piece to another for two hours.

The vampires are all the KKK. The victims are all black (and asian). The vampire hunters are all indians. And its not any analogy for race relations?
