I liked both films a lot, but personally, TWBB was the first time PTA made a great great piece. And you're right, it was! Just saw the trailer for his forthcoming film Thye Master, and it looked excellent...

There was some serious overacting by Daniel Day Lewis in that film. But yeah, PT Anderson is a very good director.

Blasphemy! Boogie Nights is brilliant as well.

I saw The Imposter this evening, interesting documentary, throws a lot of questions at you, not a lot of answers. Quite sad in many ways.

Watched Bourne Legacy today, did enjoy it but my GHod talk about just remaking a film. It was basically a remake of the Bourne Identity pretty much from start to finish while pretending to be a sub plot of the first film. Yet somehow even though the time-scale is only a week it ends after the third film which was years later after he'd lived in vietnam or wherever for ages? Glad I didn't pay evening price.

On some other recent films 12 monkeys is one of my all time favs, gets better the more you watch it and for me it doesn't actually clear up if he is just mentally divergent or it all really happened.

Also watched cabin in the woods recently, although I wasn't a massive fan of the ending thought the whole idea was really gripping and I too was like WTF for most of it. Good film.

Went back and saw layer cake recently, really good film I'd recommend for those in need who haven't seen it.

Saw an old classic recently - Belle de Jour (1967)

Denueve in her prime - fantastic piece of cinematography all-around

7.5/10

Prometheus, almost a good film. Decent premise, it appears the theme is based on the Annunaki/Aryans, the theme of expedition based on the ancient records (the sumerian ones are very interesting, planet x etc), some of the cgi was very good, BUT, it fell well short on story execution, sequencing and any semblance of character development (that worked anyway, which in a 2hour film is pretty poor).

6.5/10

Women of the 6th floor - was pretty decent, though I was only half watching, the wife really liked it, it had a nice way about it.

Watching Mr. Deeds tonight, I don't know why everyone hates Adam Sandler

He used to make to hilarious films. His last few films have been stinkers!

Love Happy Gilmore, Anger Management, Wedding Singer, Mr Deeds, Zohan, Big Daddy and 50 First Dates.

EDIT: If he was English, our media would probably love him and never say a bad thing about him or his films ala Hugh Grant.

tbh I think he's just lost his passion for it a bit, it's become formula comedy although I quite liked grown ups, not sure why though. Ordered some Monty Python films (sounds like upper class porn) as I've never seen meaning of life and I love the show and the other two.

The Cabin In The Woods - 6/10

Nothing mind blowing, especially if you've played certain computer games or seen one or two particular films. The reveal should have started sooner, the last 30 minutes could have been so much better story wise.

I watched Bourne Legacy the other day, it's a joke!! I can see why Matt Damon didn't want to be involved in this abominable Pupsen of a film.

Scum was on ITV 4 last night, decided to give it a watch. Enjoy isn't the word I would use to, but it was quite a good film. Were borstals really that bad?

Absolutely love this film. In my all time Top 20
