*** Official Film Thread ***

Neever really been that much of a fan of zombie films (mostly just running away and trying not to get bitten). Although evil dead 3 is a master piece. But the garland films are ok and this looks interesting.

Used to enjoy both zombie and vampire films, but now avoid them like the plague. So many being churned out every year to make money with no original ideas anymore.

Vampires are sparkly wet wipes... Not the once evil things, that were something you should be afraid of... Nope sparkly love hearts that are miss understood.

Zombies, meh, to much.

Looks good. I really liked Man of Steel which seems to still have people divided.

Superman comics can get quite whacky, he has a lot of villians they've not really tried out in films, this seems to be going down that route, which should be interesting.

Does look a bit bloated with characters though.

I thought it made loads of sense that this super smart society effectively saved Zod's life by putting him on an off world prison whilst their world was destroyed killing all of them. "For committing heinous crimes, we shall save your life whilst condemning all of us good guys to death, as that's what needs to happen to make this film a proper film with a baddie."

No mentions of war of the rohirrim on here then?

Solid 7.5 out of 10 for me, animation was stunning for about 98% of the time and a cameos that genuinely had me hyped up (which I won't spoil on here). Music also incredible, I went with someone who wasn't all that into Lord of the rings so didn't have the Nostalgia factor, but they still enjoyed it..

I want to watch that but haven’t had chance yet.

Can't be arsed going back to look but was there any chat about the Kneecap movie in here? Just after watching it and thought it was great - felt like one of those movies that really captures the point in time it's going for (though tbf I have no idea how accurate a view of their subculture it is) like Trainspotting or Human Traffic
Great soundtrack too.

Megalopolis, deary me, that's 2.5hrs I won't get back.

I spent a fiver to watch that omnishambles in local IMAX as wrongly thought that a Coppola movie couldn’t possibly be as bad as the Tomatometer said!

On par with The Crow remake and Madame Web as worst films I saw in 2024.

I stumbled on this today where famous actors and directors pick their best films, absolute gems of videos for real film nuts

Finally got round to watching some of these. Think I'll start with the ones I don't know here (a few people picked Seconds, which I don't think I've seen):
