O/T Olympic Football 2012

Not what I meant, but since you ask I would rate them about the same. Unlike you I didn't think King was the finished article at 19, one of the reasons he was played in central midfield as well. Similarly to someone else in this thread I thought the time he spent next to Naybet really helped him, of course that might have happened even if Naybet hadn't been there, but that was when (for me) he matured into a top class centre back.

Caulker has a (long) way to go, and the odds are against him getting to a similar level as far from all talented youngsters manage to reach their potential. He does have all the raw ingredients though.

I never said he was the finished article. I thought King was brilliant, but not the finished article. I do think he went backwards (and now we've read about his injuries, understandble!) for a couple of seasons after his stunning first couple of seasons. Just to put this in perspective there was a reason why we Ledley was used in the chant about Campbell from 2001. King in 2001 was simply superb. IMO King's finest season in a Spurs shirt was 01/02 and I will always wonder how he would have progressed had he not had those injury issues.

No one watching the women's team tonight? They are far better than our men and playing really well against a good side.

Am watching, been an enjoyable match. Maybe it's the size of the occasion for the women's game, but the touches on show have been pretty rough. Having said that, there's been some good play.

Not sure what you mean by saying their much better than our men, do you mean in their respective competition?

The GB goal was excellently worked, any men's team would have been pleased with scoring it.

I think that the women's GB team is better than the men's (who I think are very average).

So you think if the mens played the womens, you seriously think the Women would win?

I'm not down on Women's football in any shape or form, the more people playing it the better, couldn't care less about gender (in footballing terms...) but if that's what you mean, it's a pretty wild statement imo

Obviously not. No I meant in their respective competitions

Got free tickets to the Spain Morocco game today, I know Spain are out but hopefully they'll still have a decent team. I'd love to see Muniain live...Also haven't been to Old Trafford before.

Enjoy, mate - Muniain is a special talent - could be on of stars from the up and coming generation along with Adrian and Javi Martinez

Brazil men just beat New Zealand 3-0. Sandro and Leandro Damiao scored. I can see Sandro getting more goals (5-10) for us this season if played a little more. Leandro Damiao's goal was another tap in, but like Chicarito I don't think it's coincidence he gets so many. I think Leandro Damiao's best asset is his movement off the ball.

I think the main thing stopping Sandro playing more for us in the previous 2 seasons have been his injuries. If he stays injury free he'll turn in to one of our main men this season.

goals are his asset, not much else.....if Jordan Rhodes was Brazilian he would score goals in this Brazil team

Depends if he's given the same role in our spurs team as he is in the brazil team.

He doesn't really need to be very defensive against teams like new Zealand, whilst he'd have to be in the PL..

Sturridge

Very impressed by Cleverley, Sturridge and especially Bellamy on the right.

Caulker has played safe and had a brain fart against Suarez in the second half, luckily got away with it.
