Almost in line with the earlier claims that he would make a decision before first week in May.

If true, hope we have a good back up plan
I can see him not coming if it hasn't already been agreed.

Then we become a laughing stock again having let the rumours run and run

someone just wasted their mortgage money is all

dont fret

board arent insane. they cant sack AVB and then get similar version of him

Mancini is more successful than avb - avb has built a career on his one season Wonder.

Is a good manager, about our level tbh.
Knows the league and the press too.

Would prefer lvg or fsw

Mancini has built his career on spending insane amounts of money, but getting little in return.

I think the success liverscum have had may urge both levy and Lewis to go all out and get someone massive and long term.

I would love Klopp, there is a finite level of success in that league whilst bayern are that good. At times you just have to tho k that you have plateaued and time to attain a new challenge etc

Agreed about AVB

he made a name for himself by guiding a group of world class player in a **** league to the title and he won the europa league with thos world class players. what it shows is that he knows his onions and has a career in football management / coaching....i dont think it tells me anything about how good a manager he really is

mancini for me is very similar. Made a name for himself by having the biggest squads , world class players , over paid top class journey men in what was a rapidly declining league due to the finiancial status of the country

one of mancini's title was given to him as his team came second to a cheating juventus

(how juve is even allowed to play football is amazing)

i really, truly hope we get him..

i want someone younger who we can stick with for 10-20 years. stadium about to be built, cash-flow should be on the op, we have a pretty good stock at the moment.

Agree with most of that.

Though couldn't the same be said of Mourinho's career? Made it big at the biggest fish in the smallest pond, came into money at Chelsea, big fish at Inter and Madrid? Has he shown himself to really be a "special" one?

These are very good questions; in fact I may start a "Mourinho: tactical master or myth?" thread in due course..

Even though the average life scan for top flight a manager is 2 years now?

Anyone not good enough won't be given a 3rd season. Anyone that does well will be picked off by someone higher up the food chain (remember the big boys circling for AVB 12 months ago).

I agree. Mangers that stay around for more than three years are the exception now and it is an unrealistic expectation to want that from a new appointment.

His record in the CL shows how good a manager he is.

He has in his career also consistently found ways to beat teams that have been considered unbeatable. His tactics against the best teams is incredible. If there is one manager for example that I would trust to go to Anfield next week and get a result, it would be Mourinho.
