New takeover rumours

When you're a billionaire already and your family supported Spurs going back to to your grandfather and maybe great-grandfather, do you want to sell? Probably not. You went to your first game at 6 years old with either your dad or grandfather, the sentiment means more. The Lewis family don't need the money. Levy, on the other hand, may look to exit and sell his shareholding.

I suppose it is because Enic are an investment company first and foremost. I am sure if the deal was right the deal would happen, I still think it will and everything will be sold as a package (shirt, stadium, club) which leads me to think it will be someone from the Middle East.
Stadium is a good point. Makes much more sense that it is being kept back to offer with any takeover, rather than the current reasoning that Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is advertising for the club. I wonder if the shirt deal is a rolling contract, or has a get out clause, so that it can also be changed with a takeover? The shirt (and sponsor) can change every season, but obviously a lot more aggravation to change the stadium address, everything with the address on, wayfinding signage, livery, etc.

The shirt sponsorship becomes far less lucrative or make sense for AIA now Son has left.

Why do you think Levy needs the money?

What would he do with about £500m to £800m other than invest it into other assets?

I really hope not that would be the straw that broke the camels back & the end for me watching Tottenham & football. The people wanting trophies might get what they want but at what cost

I don’t care where the owners come from, but if we just get involved in an arms race with outside investment that’s me out too.

I don’t think I’d stop watching football, I’d go and find a club who are doing things the right way.

I expect there's more money to be made selling in 2-3 years rather than now when the economy improves and TV rights potentially pick up again.

Current shirt sponsorship has this and next year to go. One would assume a shirt and stadium deal will be looked at. Currently I think we get £40m for just the shirt. You’d think we would be looking for at least £60-70m for it combined.

Runs until the end of the 26/27 season

Yeh so ends after next season. So there is 100% a chance to up sell any deal for a package.

Just look at Emirates Marketing Project and the like, Stadium, Shirt, Takeover...................These people always want the PR value, its why they do it

That's what I've been saying all along as well, but when push comes to shove, it's not going to be quite as easy, I think. Hard to just shake off a life long (abusive) love affair.

Declaring you are up for sale shows a sign of weakness which people will try to exploit. Saying you are not for sale will only attract the serious big boys.

And I imagine, they only want the big boys there and we are ready made for that type of bid as we tick all the major boxes - Profile, London, Stadium, Training Group, Commercial, potential

In terms for the Lewis family though, short term rod for their own backs made now. For them to say "we want football success" is saying Levy didn't or didn't want it first despite them being the owners for the last 25 years. So for their sake they had better back that up come Jan and next summer, otherwise its just bluster.........

They are certainly talking a good game and more than the club has in 25 years publicly

I don't think he 'needs the money'.

What would he do with about £500m to £800m other than invest it into other assets?

Buy a boat a house in the south of france - anything he wants. The point is relative simple to appreciate: whilst Lewis is one of the worlds richest, Levy probably isn't one of the nation's richest. Different leagues. But Levy's shares are worth circa £1b? So if you're a millionaire in cash terms - measured in houses whatever - the appeal of having hundreds of millions makes sense, right? As for what you do with it, that is up to him.
