New Kit?

Eurgh, what an abomination. Can't we just get Nike and be done with it!

Tell me about it. That French Away kit is mint and suited to us. And yesterday Hugo had on a training top which would look lovely with a spurs badge on it.

This shirt is really tacky. Its just got way way too much going on. And to have another shirt where the sponsor is a different color to the rest is weird. White lettering so we have Goldy yellow details. Just stupid.

With the goons going over to puma you would have thought nike would gladly come over to us and offer a much better deal than under armour.

They Have Man Yoo and Emirates Marketing Project. One is the league winner and the other is the biggest team in the UK. They dont need any of the other contenders. They have Everton as well dont forget. Its Adidas that really need another top team.

Usually rivals don't have the same make of kit. Which is why it's surprising with Man Utd/Emirates Marketing Project - I imagine its because City were Umbro and they are owned by Nike.

yeah why did they do that? has umbro died a death now? no major team with them now. Not even England.

Its a pretty hideous kit. I thinkt he colours are good but I like simplicity i.e. two colours, black and yellow without those ****ing streaks would have been much better. What is it with kit designers doing too much. The best kits are the most simple designed ones.
Need to justify churning out a new set every year.

Yeah, you're right, probably the third shirt.

I don't think it looks too bad.

The one where it looks like its Navy and everything else is White is not too bad. But Yellow and white on top is just a mish mash and looks awful. At this rate every shirt will have the sponsors name off colour to the rest of the details.

Home - White, Navy Details & Red sponsor Logo
Away - ( Guess ) Yellow, Navy Details & Red sponsor Logo again.
3rd - Navy, Yellow Details & White sponsor Logo

Especially now that there are no top flight premiership London teams with Nike as the supplier. How long does the UA deal run for? Wouldnt be too upset if the new stadium become 'Nike Arena' :)

All the under Armour kits have had a cheap look in my opinion.I wish we still had Puma, Nike or Adidas would be brilliant of course. The Adidas kits we had from 99-2001 were the best we have had in the last 20 years.

......and who took over after 2001....Uncle Daniel.......in all these years its still a struggle to go into a sports shop to get all three tottenham kits off the rail to buy specially for people who don't live in London,it would be interesting what % cut nike/adidas wanted compared what under armour get, under armour must get a minimum amount for them to supply us,Levy must have a set % he gives these companies to work around.....kappa,pony,ua......what a mixture of low brand companies,we've had...

But UA clearly works with DLs strategy of making us a force in USA - UA are a big player over the pond.

Not if they don't stock it anywhere they won't. I mentioned this in an earlier thread, whilst out in Florida last August day before the ***** game i went round all the malls looking for a Spurs shirt for my son, went in the Premier stores which had every other club, whole walls of Chelsea, City, United, Pool absolutely no sign of Spurs. When i asked the assistant why Spurs weren't on sale he said they weren't allowed to sell it, the club don't allow them?!?!?!?!?!? How ridiculous is that........ they probably wouldn't offer Levy a big enough cut of profits.

Part of it is because of where I live but I can't find any Spurs gear within 12 hours of my house - that gets me to the Appalachian Mts on the East, Rockies on the West, nearly to Mexico South, Canada in the North. Not a single piece of Spurs gear.

It's a struggle to find anything BPL here though.

Even to find a decent online dealer that will come to my house at a decent price is tougher.

UA is big over here but Nike is still #1 by a long long way

Also, FWIW I kind of like the navy top.

There's always the Spurs online shop. More money, less exposure.

looks like it's just been fazed out after Nikes purchase.

Nike sold Umbro nearly two years ago for a big loss, after taking them over in 2008.

Before 2008 Nike would rarely sponsor two teams in the same city, with Adidas frequently picking up the other (if big enough). It was a marketing strategy.

The Umbro purchase allowed them to continue the same marketing approach. It also meant Nike could expand their football presence while blocking other brands from doing the same with Umbro. Nike started moving over their main contracts before the sale, Umbro appearing to have served its purpose.
