Moussa Sissoko

Hmm, he was ineffective apart from the "hold the ball by the corner" thing.

Players were avoiding giving him the ball, as they know it is pointless and usually results in losing possession and everyone having to sprint back 50 yards.

I enjoyed Poch calling him Moussa Sicko in the post match interview.
Even we he did have the ball his passing was really poor, totally stopped any flow and control by being misplaced.
That said, mentally he does seem to understand the philosophy, so it may be a lack of playing time really affecting his game.

He did well when he came on hand helped change the flow of the game. Unfortuately there are some who made their minds up a long time ago that he was crap and will not change that opinion no matter what.

Sorry parklane1 but I gotta disagree with you. Other then helping us win a few corners towards the end of the match I thought he was awful.

Last night his first touch was poor (again).
He's got no real skill to get past players.
He didnt deliver a good ball.

Not saying he isnt trying but I would be amazed if he's still at Spurs next season. I dont think we have helped him cos in my eyes he's not a winger/forward. If HAD to play him I would play him centre mid.

If he doesnt go abroad, I can see him signing for a Stoke, WBA or Watford size club. He's not a top 4 player.

It even seemed to me that some of our own players were reluctant to pass to him, even when he was in acres of space. I think he will be gone in the summer.

Well Stop! Hammer time, however we struggled in the first half so he along with Son coming on changed the game for us. I am not saying he played great or even that he will be here next season but he did well last night. But i get the feeling if he was to have a great game for us there will be some who will not give him credit no matter what.

This. Ive been negative about him, but he came on, was useful, and helped beat a difficult form team. Anyone who thinks he was crap should watch the second half again and imagine they are watching a player without prejudice.

To take away some of the bias... I'm watching the Manchester derby right now and I'm imagining whether Sissoko would be on the pitch. Is he good enough for these guys?
If he was on the bench, would he be one of the first players brought on? I'm struggling to picture it. I know Mourinho likes super athletes that fight and power up and down, so perhaps he would like him a la Fellaini

He did well yesterday. I don't rate him highly but he can cover a couple of position's and last night his physicality was of more use than say Son's direct running.

Did ok yesterday, no more no less imo.
I would say there's less than a 1% chance he'll be here next season, just cannot see it.
Selling at a loss isn't ideal, but Levy may just cut his losses and get rid.. with whatever financial / accounting model he can do the most damage limitation with.
Maybe write it off against the "concrete pillars, joists and hard core" budget... eh West Ham!

I would also say shifting Eriksen into midfield and pushing Dier into a holding position were critical factors too.

The fact that some are praising him for holding the ball for the last two minutes says it all.

Unfair? Perhaps but I bet we have academy players that can hold the ball up.

I don't think his price tag has got anything to do with people's criticism of him... he just is not a player that can bring anything to the current team.

If we got him in the 90's he would have been just a poor player in a poor team.

It's glaring to see that he is not up to standard. I challenge anyone to tell me what is so special in his skill set that he can kick on to claim a place in the first team or even a positive substitute?

I dont think anybody see's him as starting, however there were complaints that we lacked a different plan, he isnt a world beater, he may not be up to the required standard, however stick a new name on his back and then judge what you see, not the name.

He looks clumsy, he hasnt got the skills of Winks, or the Craft of Lamela, or the direct running of Son.

He did well holding the ball up at the end, something that Jansen got plaudits for and how useful that was. However watch back all of that first half compared to the second, and watch the difference down our right hand side. The physical attributes of him made Schlupp and Zaha drop 10yrs

For me we improved despite his at best average second half.

Why not credit Son for changing the game? He came on at the same time... Or perhaps crediting the players that actually played well makes more sense?

The whole Palace team dropped deeper when our central midfield became capable of playing through their pressure and through their lines.

Well spotted and yes he gave mediocre full backs something to fear.

Not about his name or anything. It's his ability that is not in any plans.

I look to subs and think yes mate we have options...what option does he present. I can't figure this out. Just physical presence and being able to run. Even then he doesn't track back.

I think it's embarrassing to the current team that he is even getting a chance to play with this current crop.

You have mentioned jansen but he can do things that convince some that he has something in him that could mean that he can kick on. He has a decent shot and first touch for a start. We even justify that he may need time to adjust and settle in the premier league. Better strikers have failed here.

Sissoko knows about the premier league and is a french international. He is expected to be able to control a ball and pass. I don't dislike the man, just very uneasy watching him.

Thought Son was pretty poor and was having one of his frustrating games.
We played at a higher tempo and pushed them back, a large part of that was reducing the flow to Zaha on the right hand side.
Then a single wonder goal broke Palace.

Or are you in a place where if the team is poor its because of sissoko, however if its good its despite sissoko.

Nobody is saying he is a world beater, that doesnt mean you have to hate him so much as to be blind when he has played well
