Moussa Sissoko

Fair points, but it's a new system he's playing in and not getting much game time.

Probably because he is not impressing in training. Besides new system or not he has more first team experience than Winks but you would know it when you watch him play

Put into context though he had played less than 1 hour of competitive football in 2017 before yesterday's game. While he wears our shirt he will have my support. I believe there is a player in there but he needs to be given a chance to prove it.

My thoughts as well, i think his main problem is he is trying to do things too fast and is the main reason his first touch is so poor. He seems to be nervous and getting 15 minutes or so every half dozen games is not really helping him.

At least he takes the pressure off Janssen! Makes Janssen look svelte.

I think Sissoko will come on in the next few games. He's possibly better as a midfielder, and if like Janssen he can give it his all, and help the team, then he can do okay. He's not a natural finisher, but he gets into good positions, can create chances and can contribute. If space opens up, he can stride forward and really impress. Is he limited? Yes, but that doesn't mean he can't grow and be a big player for us in these next few weeks. Poch has to get into him and let him believe that too.

I know he has not been great, poor first touch and missed an easy chance to put us ahead yesterday but lets get behind him. At least he put a shift in, I was happy he didn't hide and we will need him. So here's to Sissoko offering supplemental support (and maybe scoring the decisive goal in, say, a semi-final)...

Is that not half the problem? he believes he is a football player, he believes he can control the ball and he believes that he can pass.

What we need to do is make him believe that he will be better off dazzling it up in china

How did you feel back in the day about Ginola's wing play?
Ginola was a shaft of sunshine in a gloomy room of sad sack Spurs players. Nowadays Spurs are on a par with the best in the league. I think Zaha is OK, but I would not pay a lot for him, I think he might be having his moment of a few good games and being the big fish in a small pond... but I don't think he believes he will make the step up to a top class team like Spurs, and he may shrink back into himself and struggle

I think he went to Man U to soon as happens to many young players, he would have been better staying at Palace and learning his craft.

He looks to me like he has become a real good player in the prem, Moses might win a league title with Chelsea and some very average players won a title with Leicester. Zaha looks above average to me, but it is all about the squad anyway. Final point if Poch wants him that would be enough for me, because I do not think he really wanted the two lads we signed from the French league. We need to sign players Poch will actually play.

No I think he's shy and probably over thinking his finishing. Its clearly an issue for him. No player jumps into competitive games and looks fully up to speed - after hardly playing. He's no Messi, but can play a part for us - needs to - with our injuries mounting.

Indeed he needs to play a part now; i'm sure all of the hate seen in this thread will dissipate a bit when he score the winner in the Semi-final

:D:eek:

On the other hand he did nothing to indicate that he deserves game time ahead of Son or Janssen.

i'm Genuinely starting to have a massive dislike to this point

There is a reason you pay a premium for premiership proven players....and that is mainly because the risk is low and acclimatisation to the league is minimal / sometimes nothing.

Yes its a new system but sissoko has been training with this team for months...match sharpness? again if you really wanted to reach everytime he has a sub par game you can indeed cling to this. But for a guy that has played multiple years in this league, that costs us a record level transfer fee and is supposed to be a player that is bought for his physical attributes primarily i dont think its fair to the team / supporters / management to say that he is new to the system and not getting much game time. you can get that reasoning and performance level from a 10 million pound player but we shouldn't easily and happily attach them to sissoko's performances......this is a multi billion pound industry and he gets paid more money than entire households in 1 week....plus we are really trying to push on and acheive something here...and if a 30 million pound bench player with ample league experience thats long in the tooth in age and mentality is going to keep putting sub par performances then we should pull him up on it

i think he should own it, he played bad/average/not worthy of this seasons tottenham team and thats pretty much it..no excuses....get on the training ground come back and try your damnedest to do better

All really valid comments for sure...I think he will get pulled up on it in the summer (and rightly so as has been said)...but for now, let's just squeeze what we can from him IMO.

I'm sure he can get a big money move to Toulon, Clermont or Racing 92 in the summer and get himself into the French world cup team for Japan in two years.

Shy? WTF? He has 20 under 21 caps and 50 full international caps so telling me he is shy is a lame excuse

Well put bro

So many ridiculous excuses being made for this guys absolutely horrific performances.

With the injuries mounting I hope in future games dembele is subbed for ccv, with dier going into midfield.

If we put sissoko in the engine room, he is quite capable of causing total chaos - and not for the opposition!

We are going to need Sissoko in the run-in - whether you like him or not. He does bring strength and pace that could be crucial in some of our upcoming games, especially with some of the injuries we are getting now.

Let's get behind ALL the squad for now and hope for the best.

We will have the summer to cuss the likes of Sissoko if need be - and Poch; whether you like it or not Sissoko was HIS buy

COYS
