He's done really well but thats a stretch too far in my view. In terms of physicality he has, but ability to keep the ball moving and play incisive passes they're poles apart. I think we desperately need a Dembele replacement because having 3 of your 4 CMs being unable to pass the ball well and being more defensive rather than attacking isnt the right balance
 
Surely it must be between Sissoko and Jan for player of the season. Others have done very well too, but not with the consistency of those two.

Sissoko's turnaround really has been something else. Growing and getting better by every game.

I loved his comments too, where he underlines the value of hard work, and making the best of the qualities you have. It's an attitude many players could benefit from.

Replacing Dembele like for like is impossible as he had a very unique skillset. One thing that didn't standout with Dembele was his passing, he wasn't bad but i wouldn't say incisive either. Also, If you're saying Winks is unable to pass the ball then he surely has little future with us? Dier and Wanyama have both shown they can pass the ball well (i think it takes Big Vic a while to build his confidence back up in this area). I think we do need another CM basically as 2 or 3 are a bit dodgy on the injury front and Sissoko will be 30 in August, plus if we could find a better passser than all of them (Carrick type) it will hold off any need for Dele or Eriksen to play the deeper role. I have no idea who though? Gomes has some quality BUT think in this league in the big games he'd disappear.

Across this forum I’ve noticed him being so far seriously compared to Kante, Zidane, Viera and Dembele!!!

That’s some player!!!
 
Him or Son for Player of the Season. Often there is feeling for the winner, a good story. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Sissoko won it and it would be richly deserved.

He's the player who has covered us the most. Arguments can be made for Harry, Son, Jan but we expect that from them and it's their natural roles. He's stepped in and taken the CM role to fill a hole we had no natural cover for .. hence in terms of stepping up, he's done more than anyone.

I can't dance with that, you can see his confidence rising every game and is turning out and showing it on a regular basis.

I think that's a good point.

Back in August if you were told that Victor, Dier, Winks would spend a good chunk of time on the sidelines and Dembele would be gone in January and Sissoko would be the lynch pin of our midfield you would stand there stony faced BUT he has carried that challenge and responsibility and it has been the making of him.

It's been such a positive contribution to the team this season
