... his touch, his passing, his ability to find a team mate, his ability to keep the shape of the team well and fill his role, it's all pretty good.
His touch, passing and ability to find a team mate is not pretty good at all. They are his worst traits. And, at best, is "hit and miss".
I think thats the problem with him. We play in a way where all of these are key things, and its in these things he simply isnt at the level of his team mates. No where close.
Incidentally he can have a good touch, a good pass - but not consistently and that really is a problem.
Objectively he simply isnt as good a footballer as the rest of the squad.
While some people are harsh on him, others are seriously stretching credibility in his defense.
That being said, he is still improving. And is now making contributions. More impressive, for me, is that he no longer hides, and no longer bricks himself when the play comes to him. He is starting to try and impress himself on things which shows a huge change in attitude for him which Im delighted with.
If he continues to progress he may well become decisive in games for us this season.
Last night? Typical of what Ive been saying really, inconsistent. First half I thought he was good, second bad. At times I looked at him and thought "Yes, thats it!" and then the next time he got the ball (with a bemused smile) "what the hell was that?!"
I have to say I thought he took his goal VERY well, and hopefully itll be another step in his redemption. His last goal was bundled in and he knew little about it - this one was a peach - the sort that can really boost a player.
