Moussa Sissoko

BBC saying we're in for him :( I can't say I've seen him much. His marauding run in the Euros was spectacular, but a little skeptical. What does @Greg think? Is he any good?

In all honesty and being as objective as I can he would be an awful signings for Spurs, he isn't a technical player at all and has an awful first touch. He's very selfish. He has great pace and power and can use that to go past defenders but he isn't very skillful. He's only really an asset on the break. He looked good for France towards the end of the EUROs as those kind of runs catch the eye but he produced nothing.

In your current position you should be looking at better players.

Thank you.

Do you think the media are just trolling?
Or Daniel Levy for that matter?

Sky Sports report Spurs are not willing to pay £30M for Moussa Sissoko and have cooled their interest. #THFC

Apparently its taken us until TDD to ask them how much they want and realise we dont want to pay it.

Classic Spurs.

Relax...media clickbait created from...er....clickbait...

I'm feeling entertained again now:)
This deal aint gonna happen...think about it..don't pay 30M for Mane or 25M foor Wijnaldum...both better players...but then splash 30M for Sissoko?
Nah...relax and enjoy the BS ride..

Sissoko clearly wants out and as acted like a prick all summer which has only made Rafa and the club more stubborn in demanding such a high fee.

If he hadn't spent the last year and a half and then all summer in the press saying he should be playing for a club like Real Madrid etc. and stayed quiet and professional he probably would have got a move by now.

It may be that Everton are seriously interested and we're trying to use Spurs in the negotiations, then again the reports are £30M or no deal.

Rafa has said he is a nice kid but badly advised by those around him and he would be happy to keep him.

It will be an interesting afternoon.

Cheers; yeah the bit about Spurs being used in negotiations makes sense. I'd imagine Levy wouldn't mind that if he has real work to do elsewhere...perhaps he might ask a similar favour at a later time as well...

Is Sissoko going to be the pacey, direct type of player we need to compliment our team? I mean, I get that he is pacey and direct, but is he skillful like Zaha? Reeks of lack of strategy going from one player to the other like that when they look different. Is he going to break the lines like Poch wants?

We probably should have pushed harder for Mane if we knew we were willing to spend the same kind of money on this sort of player.

Agreed...which is why it's grade A bs

He's not like Zaha at all. He uses his pace and power to bundle through defenders rather than skill.

Panic signing. I would have Zaha all day over this guy.

He had a good summer tournament but many Saudi Sportswashing Machine fans are unimpressed by him and think he's overrated and very hit and miss. Whilst he has pace and power, I don't think he'd fit our system and unless we want him to be back-up for Dembele he isn't gonna solve our issues.

We need pace, skill and unpredictability in the forward positions - Zaha isn't perfect but I would have taken him as we need someone to commit and occupy defenders. Sissoko does not do this, is up and down and has a questionable attitude. He has some raw tools but we should be looking for a different type of player.

Worst thing is waiting until deadline day to try and make a proper move.... again.

Very very depressing and it would be almost funny if we ended up with no back-up.

You think Poch makes panic signings? A French international a panic signing? Ok then....

I, unlike many of our fans, would be happy to keep him. He's talented and has pace and power and is capable of being a very good Premier League player. I'm just not sure he can ever be any more than that. I just think in your position you should be looking for better and that he doesn't really fit into your shape and style of play.

He should take the tinkle in the Championship.

Our esteemed world class managed said the following earlier this week:

"These players are not as bad as people think, it's just maybe the environment was not right for them".
