Mikey Moore

I thought it interesting to hear him talk about the pace of the game when he came on. He mentioned it a couple of times as if it was something that really struck him. Just an indication of how much of a step up it is for a youngster to come into that environment. Even having trained with the first team, playing in an actual competitive game is a different scenario altogether.
Of course he is very young and it's maybe unusual for a player of his age to make a first team debut without any loan experience, but nonetheless, something to bear in mind when we hanker for academy players to be given minutes.

He hasn't even played for the u21s yet only the u18s. So it was a big jump. Also it was city.

It wasn't so much his comments about the pace of the game that caught my ear, it was about how quickly the ball was moved on.
He's not a full grown adult yet so you would not expect him to be as physically quick and he very probably knows that, but I find it interesting that he noticed how quick city moved the ball between themselves.
City are a team that have been together for a couple of years and know each other well, it's second nature to them, that's what we are building toward and that he can spot that after a cameo appearance is hopefully a good sign of his footballing intelligence.

Having worked with young players at that level its something they struggle with and usually happens. We do try and tell them its men against boys to start with but it is to be expected and it will be strange to them.

Moves like Chris Waddle. I suspect that wild shot over the bar was a deflection, as Moore tried to reverse it back through the 18 defenders he'd already beaten thrice each.
He's just a kid, but he does look very talented.
I think the scoreline flattered England a bit, France missed every chance they had whereas ours flew in, but it was a good performance of course.

Worth remembering u17s is his age group, rather than him playing a group or two higher
Agreed. Clearly a very talented player and exciting to see him both get first team minutes and do well at a youth international tournament. But still some way to go and as we've seen before a lot can happen between clearly talented and actual first team PL impact.

None the less fun to have talented young players looking good. Will be interesting to see what happens next for him.

16! All I wanted to when I was 16 was drink and shag. They’re so mature now
Yes, he doesn't drink at all and his mates just go round his house. Also quite nice is that Moore doesn't know the huge amount of money he has secured for his three year professional contract, his dad has kept that information from him for the time being:D....
