I don't have any idea why he would have thought he could leave on a free transfer, he has got a year left and his team are brick by their own standards so why would Barca want to see him walk for nada?

Kinda feel a bit bad for Koeman, because this isn't an ideal start but I guess the situation he was walking in to was a bit predictable.
 
I guess it depends on where his wages come from, if Barca really can save 600k a week by letting him go that’s salary for 2/3 solid options, who aren’t 33 and want to dictate how the club is run.

As awesome as he has been for them, he’s becoming a problem, for all of the platitudes in his statement, declaring publicly that he wanted to leave is petulant.

Feels like he's at the crossroads but where would he go to be happy? Also, I think he is missing a nemesis level player at Real and misses that type of challenge and media attention.

Maybe he should come to the epl and the media would put him up against regular titans Vardy, Salah and Rashford for a whole new challenge and learning experience.

I think he'd be mad to come to the PL.

Currently he can retire as one of the two greatest, possibly the greatest, player in modern football.

If he goes to Italy for a few years, the same. If he goes to PSG for a few years, also the same.

If he comes to the PL there's a small but non-zero chance that he won't do as well as in such easy leagues. Then he only gets to retire as the second best player in modern football.

If it was me, I wouldn’t risk diluting my numbers, I’d probably retire.

I was being sarcastic.

If I recollect correctly,, the Spanish judge ordered the destruction of the samples from the non-cyclists. I'm pretty sure he ordered it, but don't know if it was followed through.
