Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

Well, if it stirs the Talksport crowd, its probably a good idea.

I don't want to belabour the spine point, but will any way. I think it would have been fair to describe Toby and Dembele as the part of the spine in the two previous seasons. Toby was generally considered the better CB, although many people have taken notice of Verts in the post season reviews this year. And Dembele remains a problem as when he is missing or off-form we can look quote ... er, spineless.

Has a Spurs manager ever left because they were poached by another club? I can't think of one. It's a reassuring stat if it really hasn't ever happened.

Perhaps not, but then again which of our managers over the past 30-odd years have consistently performed to this kind of level?

It's probably also worth noting the Arnesen fiasco, and that Redknapp would've jumped at the chance to do so had it come his way (England), though granted neither exactly fits your criteria.

Reading the full quotes, where Poch says “he has some crazy ideas” I just took that to be self deprecating, not necessarily to be taken literally?

My thoughts as well, i think there is a lot of guesswork and speculation over someone using words that are not native to them, and do not mean what so many are speculating and guessing they mean.

I will be sure to remember that should we finish 5th/6th and win a trophy. I am sure the point of view will be spun to something about net spend and 6th highest wage bill so we are at about our level whilst enjoying the glory of a trophy you aren't bothered about over CL. Unbelievable
Forrest. Trees.

Watched SSN @ lunch time. They had a bloke running down the current Premier League managers talking about who might get sacked or move, including Poch to Chelsea. He was literally making brick up.

And we’ve got three months of this to come.

I imagine everyone actually involved with Spurs gets a massive laugh out of it.

Neil Ashton in The Sun is desperately trying to push the narrative that Poch and Levy are on a collision course...meanwhile Sanchez has just signed a 6 year contract. The moves have already started and I’d imagine most of the planning took place months ago.

Neil Ashton. What a waste of time and print he is. And sadly it's him and his type that will get a first look at the stadium when it's all done in the same way that they did for the new training ground.

Well if Poch was being honest about not moving to the likes of Barca and Arsenal due to them being rivals if teams he has managed then surely he would know it would not be a good move for him.

Ive wanted this for years, about bloody time. It was so obviously the right thing to do all along, Ive no idea why it wasnt like it in the first place.

He can want what he likes, but I think he (and we) know a lot of these things take time - especially if we are looking to aim higher.

Not necessarily. We have lost players in past windows we could’ve had due to indecisive action (that is, they were snaggable early doors but we dithered and allowed others in).

I have no intention of getting into arguing semantics all day, so I wont be chasing this too long.

Perhaps spine isnt the right word, but basically its like this:

For most on here Rose is still first choice LB. Alderweireld the best CB in the league. Dembele our most important midfielder.

Whether or not they have made a big impact this year, I think its not unfair comment.

Seems to me most people here would be pencilling in these same players in their fantasy line up for match day 1.

And, potentially, Poch is talking about letting them all go and replacing them. That, I dont think is unfair to say, could easily be considered "crazy".

And lets be honest here, none if us have no idea what he meant exactly - so I think you would probably agree its not worth arguing over too much ;)

I was just putting out an alternative to your assumption. Much like Billy did above.

Trust me, Rose and Alderweireld are not the future he sees (sadly fitness issues have seen to that) and Moose? Again, fitness issues. Providing the money goes to upgrading and there is further money behind it (there is) we should cash in smartly (sell into Europe not rivals). Again, and it cannot be over-emphasized, people are hearing now
about a general plan which has been in place for some time. I will now speculate and say that there were likely three different plans based on where we finished in the table.
