But I was right, so call it what you want. It's been clear to see all season how bad we've been. People slagged AVB but he did better, and his squad was decimated in his two season - king, modric, VDV gone the first season, bale the next. Poch has had absolute stability, no outgoings, a big squad all bedded in, he's had the whole season, and dne worse than the last two season which were supposedly utter turmoil.
But it's not about the past. It's about now. I'm very worried he's inept. The evidence is there for me. But let's hope it really is because this isn't his squad. Let's see what happens in the summer and next season.
the Spurs job should be for a proven winner, e.g. Benitez, even De Boer, it should not be for an up and coming manager with potential. The job is too difficult, it requires ability to handle Levy, players with egos, fans expectations etc.
It definitely should not be an apprenticeship.
Agree 100%. I have no idea why such a tough job would go to someone without real experience and preferably proven success. The money spent hiring Baldini COULD have been used to hire a top rate manager, not someone young and learning on the job....we may get lucky with Poch, or we may bump along between 6th and 8th, where our wage bill puts us. Time will tell!
Oh dear oh dear oh dear. The Portuguese fool and his scouting are part of the reason we are in this mess. Oh wait a minute it's not his fault because we didn't get moutinho, Damiao or villa.Poch isn't at AVB's level thats obvious, but we don't fish in those waters anymore, we had our chance and we blindly wasted it.
I don't believe anyone out there that would come to us would be doing a better job.
Thought this was a transitional season for Poch to look at the squad and see who fits for his long term plan? Most people at the beginning of the season thought a realistic finish for us was between 7th - 5th and we needed to give Poch time to do what he does. Unfortunately Spurs fans being Spurs fans are writing the manager off already and moaning about players we knew were not good enough anyway.
I don't think Stambouli, Davies and Fazio were poch preferred players and I am Baldini gets the axe at the end of the season and Levy will back Poch with the players he wants if they are available.
If any of the players he didn't get along with produced like Archie did, they'd be playing. You're comparing apples and oranges IMO there. If you think Benitez would handle this job, I think you are ignoring some serious facts about how our club is run. De Boer? A winner in Holland. I think this season would be comparable to the year Burky got us back up, and I think next year we will start to see some fruit. But it could be a couple of years. I think he has it, and I think his policy and structure supports that. If he can get three specific upgrades and develop three more youth talents as squad additions, he will be mustard...
There were quite a few who wanted Burkinshaw out, however, you could see he was building and trying to blend Ardiles, Villa, Hoddle, while looking for 20 goal striker, then two come along: Messrs Archiblad and Crooks.
With Poch I don't see that flexibility, or tactical intelligence, let alone the characteristic of pragmatism that the Burk had. Recall, he didn't get along with Archibald but it never stopped him picking Archibaldd.
Alas, Kaboul, Capoue, Ade, Lennon etc seemed to be at loggerheads with Poch and are not selected. Now rumours that Dembele is in the doghouse.
This is not going well.
I concur entirely wit Dubaispurs the major fault lies with Enic but Poch is not helping himself.

i really don't think he's the problem, silk purse sows ear etc etc
sacking him isn't going to fix things, just mean we start again from square one with someone else and we have this problem again in 12 months time when they can't get a tune from a broken guitar either, we need to let him build what he can
we all know the definition of insanity
Amazed at the posts on here suggesting Poch should be booted. He inherited an inbalanced over-rated squad and has got us to a position which is about right. Anything higher would have been over-achieving. Judge him next year or the year after. He needs to have a couple SUMMER windows to shape the squad
Without a doubt, however some fans will start bitching and demand a change of manager pretty soon its what they do. They reckon that because they can win crud on abacus games that the game is as easy in the real world.
then when he gets rid of the manager and brings a new one in they all moan because he does not give managers enough time.
