Yeah he is style wise but he actually is decent defensively although not great

I'd be worried that an Aurier who was in and out of the side would be even more error prone because he wasn't match sharp.

I wouldn't worry. Aurier is never match sharp.

Last summer was slightly different where they knew at the beginning of the window. I haven't seen Doherty mentioned until reasonably recently. What we have seen is well placed journos start talking about it a lot in the last 24 hours.

In what way? He played as a wing back last season, his attacking stats are very good and I'm not aware of him ever playing CB.

Not at all.
Looking at the Sky article I posted, you can see that he specifically drives into the opposition penalty area an awful lot to be a direct attacking rather than creative threat.
