Mathys Tel

I think Tel worked hard in difficult circumstances, that's not his game, he wants balls over the top to run onto, he doesn't want it to feet with with a fb up his arse.

Sonny was never any good at that either.

Not saying he couldn't do better with passes and touches, but his head didn't drop and he didn't stop running.

I totally understand that fans are frustrated with him but the abuse he was getting last night was out of order imo.
He looks shot of confidence - although even with confidence he may still not be good enough - but I really fail to understand how calling him a c every time he got anywhere near the ball (and sometimes even when he wasn’t) is supposed to help. Fortunately he seems a pretty strong character but everyone has a breaking point.

Wow, didn't realise he was getting abuse from some of the away fans....that's horrible!

He gets it at home but last night it felt quite a bit ramped up. Maybe I was unfortunate with those around me. I was going to say something to one bloke behind me but then realised it was far more than one person so I just took the easy approach of saying nothing.

he has one trick. Run fast, then turn back inside and either lay it off or try to move over the box to have a shot. That is it. As soon as you just block his path inside he is done. he has to lay it off. Not once have I seen him beat a man on the outside and cross with his left. You have to have that in your lock if you are going to keep the right back honest. And he does not. So last night was a game he just passed it off inside every single time. And he is supposed to be a winger.

he is not learning. He is not getting better. If RDZ sees Savio as a right winger then where is Kudus going? becuase they are our best two wingers.

At one point on the TV, I remember hearing him getting stick. Bergvall, who had a good game, played a ball into him in their box and Tel turned back to groans. Fact was, the ball Bergvall played wasn't good enough and hadn't enough pace on it so Tel had no option.

Unfortunately, he's now been identified as a spacegoat so he's gonna get it from the fan base every time. It's fudging disgusting carry on.

but that's on the manager, it's pretty clear he's out of form, low on confidence.

He needs to be pulled from the starting lineup, give him 10 minutes at the end of a game against tired legs, with a specific plan/pattern to play to. In a team that is struggling, that has not established it's system, we are not helping him or the team by having him start.

And if he can't find a way to make an impact off the bench between now and January, writing is on the wall, and the owners will need to put their hands back into their pockets. And why we decided to make this kid permanent is a decision (that if anyone involved is still here) needs to be re-visited.

I think this is just incorrect, there’s plenty of examples of him beating his man already this season. He’s pretty skilful. I feel like Marmoush is more confident and assertive with his dribbling but Tel definitely has it.

Overall, I’m not going to judge any attacking player until it’s clear the in possession game has clicked. If it has, and he keeps messing up the final pass or failing to finish easy chances, then yes he should be replaced. But right now literally no attacking player is covering themselves in glory. So there is no reason why Tel should be getting the stick that he is. It’s actually pretty disgusting.

I’m not excusing it, but to me it’s clear as day - a large section of the fanbase is fed up after the last few seasons and patience is short supply.

It certainly doesn’t excuse racism - fudge those clams! - but, to me, it explains a lot.
The 'C' word is nasty and don't get why our fans use it to slag off a player, don't consider it racist though, unless you saw some other comment?
