Yeah seems to be, now we've established liquid water is on mars I think it's only a matter of time before we find microbal life or at least evidence that it did exist at some point. One small step towards finding some new friends... or our impending doom!

So that's the Big announcement....they can't be serious!

there's water on Mars and it flows...
er water does flow dunnit?

its generally been recognized there's water on Mars for years..... FFS!

I dunno Nasa.....

an all that money on Curiosity....and nothing of anything special discovered so far..

There must be a cover up going on somewhere LOL...

We've known there was water on Mars, we didn't know it was liquid.

Water doesn't always flow, it's only liquid water when it isn't in a solid or gaseous (or interim) state.

yes off course its liquid at the right temperature..we are in the so called Goldilocks zone around the sun. Generally scientist say if there is water there maybe life. For all we know though.. life could possibly exist and evolve in other environments than a water base one on another planet in another Solar System.
For me its no big deal for frozen water to melt on Mars. Heat from inside the Planet could melt it..
Maybe other factors..enough infra red being stored in rocks..anyway..

not too much there to excite my imagination...I want Martians dammit ..LOL

water that flows..........

Water that flows is generally considered to be a prerequisite for life as we understand it. It may not be "the big one" but it's a big step towards that discovery.

The average temperature on Mars is -60 degrees C and it has a really thin atmosphere. The discovery of running water there is a big deal. It could also make it a lot more viable for a manned mission there.

Also means charities can say "These people don't have running water but the f**king giant rock next to ours does."
