Has he done anything of note, football wise, in any of his appointments? I'm struggling to think of any, but don't follow too much these days.

Nothing really. I feel for him coz he seems fairly likeable and genuine and he was a great player. I don't enjoy seeing him struggle but I just don't see him as management material. Rooney was an exceptional player but it was all based on pure talent and what came naturally to him. In all of his interviews, I don't recall him saying anything particularly insightful.

He seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder too which I'm not sure goes down well when you're a manager.

He’s also at least starting at the bottom with small clubs rather than trying to go straight in at the top.

Seen quite a bit of abuse of him on other social media sites. "Granny shagger" (how original), "fat bastard" (the mind boggles) and "clueless idiot" are amongst the most common.

No idea why people feel the need to abuse Rooney. Aside from the fact he probably didn't play for their clubs, has Rooney ever done anything outside of his private life to tinkle people off? Always came across as a decent lad to me.

I read somewhere that he had agreed to a mutual termination rather than being fired thus saving Plymouth a payout which is pretty classy if true. Unfortunately it looks like he can be used as a further of example of 'great player don't necessarily equal great manager'
