Definitely!
We know he bombed out GKN last year to Burnley because he wasn't listening / paying attention fully, joking about, not focused, headphones on for the warmup, not supporting his colleagues, not watching... I'm quite surprised GKN has been getting this second chance.
And we know Edwards has ALL the talent but not the attitude off the pitch, nor tracking back attitude on the pitch.

Fergie had a nice balance in that squad, there actually were not all kids, just a talented few. I'd be more than happy to go with the current squad and some of our kids.

I was really pleased when Poch saw sense and sent the lamppost back to the bench and called for Amos.

The last thing we needed was a lamppost on half way, we needed a terrier and got him, the game fizzled out nicely once Dembele and Amos came on.

I was having this discussion with a friend re: him and Skipp (who is dynamic and has some fizz). I think the value of players like Amos gets lost in what the public look for in a young player. I suspect he is a rare bird in so much as his quiet, calm and unspectacular efficiency is not an especially common talent. I felt he played the pre-seasons like he was a few years older, never looked fussed and did a great job as the shield. I hope he thickens up a bit more, but beyond that, I like the look of him a lot!

Watching the game today, I think it’s becoming clearer that his ‘thing’, his standout quality, may well be that engine, and it’s may well make the Kante comparisons pretty apt. You could see in pre season he was getting a lot of interceptions, but also pressing at the front (almost scoring by closing down a defender right in front of the goal) and today, towards the end when we were breaking, it was him trying to get into the box. He’s almost quite literally everywhere, and it’s great to see.

We may well have a player here. Someone comfortable on the ball without being flashy, but someone with a ridiculous engine who will never stop running. And someone tactically aware from all the positional shunting in the youth teams - it’s meant he’s taken longer to break through but he could well be a player. Early days but I’m rooting for him big time.

That said, always great to get another one off the production line. Hopefully he grows into a role in the squad this season.

Agreed and I think he showed BIG balls to hang and work hard to help us over the line. He is going to be a player!
