Tom Huddlestone
Fantastic goal on Wednesday; deserved to be a winning goal, but hopefully it proves a catalyst for him to become more consistent and to be more of a threat from outside the box.
Moura scored a great goal against Olympiacos but went missing after that. He needs to be more consistent and gets involved more in matches. He needs to show the same passion he showed when he scored the brilliant hattrick against Ajax in the CL.
Well maybe if he gets more than 5 fudging minutes when we are chasing a game ...

Really find myself wondering what he has done to tinkle Poch off so badly...
Last night was a good example. In moments in the first half he showed his best level. He was the attacking player on the pitch for us with the most match fitness and experience, he should bring quality.Really find myself wondering what he has done to tinkle Poch off so badly...

Then after looking like a player they couldn't deal with he faded, created very little, didn't go past players as much, didn't find the right spaces.
Not at all giving him all the blame for yesterday, like others he didn't get good service, the rest of the team didn't do enough to get him performing. But yesterday is illustrative of what I think is a persistent pattern with him. Short or shortish bursts of great quality, but nowhere near the consistency of the players ahead of him in the pecking order.
According to whoscored.com he started 25 league matches and 8 CL matches last season. I don't have the time to look up to what extent those came as runs of games, but that should be enough to get going and stay motivated I'd say.Possibly fair, but how is he to be consistent if he is never given a run of games? And how is he to remain motivated when he very clearly should play (for example, the match following a great performance - one where we are screaming out for attacking intent) and gets benched?
He does play really well. For half an hour here there, the occasional half and perhaps ever so rarely a full game. Then he's somewhere between average and invisible for long stretches.Thats actually a hell of a lot more than I expected.
Ive always had the impression he plays really well then is inexplicably benched. And then not bought off the bench until the 85th minute even though we are clearly screaming out for what he offers.

If he was more consistent we probably wouldn't have been able to sign him, certainly not at that price.
In his first season at PSG he made 11 assists. After that never more than five assists in the league in a season. For PSG, in the French league. Again, if he was more consistent...
He is pretty much what we could expect when we signed him, with the added bonus of delivering massively in one huge game. If he wants to cement a place in our team he needs to up his performances from where he's been so far. I think he can, but I'm not exactly super confident about it.
Agree to disagree. I think he's gotten enough games to prove himself, if he can push on he might get that special treatment. He will continue to get game time, if he can improve as others have in the past he'll get more game time. As simple as that.Pretty sure he just got benched at PSG because they bought new toys, not sure its the best example to really get into to be honest.
I do agree he needs to be more consistent. I also think though its a bit of a chicken and egg thing, he needs to be nurtured, rewarded with games when playing well, played consistently in a position/manner etc. And I feel like Poch has never really given him that.
Yeah. Try to prove that you can be creative, perhaps double your number of assists since coming here from one to two. Perhaps show that against league two opponents you can make the difference even with imperfect service.Last night was a good example.
"Hey Moura, time to impress! Youve got a 17 year old rookie with you, and 18 year old rookie behind you and the least creative midfield I can think of, Good luck!"
Is that really a chance?
