On Deki Kulusevski's leadership qualities, on and off the pitch...​

"That was the other area of growth for us... we haven't had Vicario and Romero, part of our leadership group, for large chunks of this season and it's fallen on Sonny and Madders' shoulders to carry that load and through this time, Deki and Solanke in particular, both with their performances, but just with their general demeanour around the place, have really taken on the responsibility of leading us through this. Deki has been outstanding both with his football and his mentality and again it's a great area for us of growth for us. When all our players come back, I'm sure they're going to feel like they've grown through this period as well. In a difficult season, Deki has been outstanding all year and really important for us."

Son and Madders should have never been named Captain and vice captain. Just because Son and Maddison are everyones friend and have a laugh does not mean they are leaders.

Deki should be captain, he's the only one that it's easy to see is driven when he talks in his interviews and looks a real leader. Compare that to Son's interviews were he looks like he's going to cry half the time.

Agreed, Kulusevski carrying our team as much as Kane used to both on and off the pitch.

Whoever is captain having characters like Kulu in our team is only a good thing. Others too imo, the youngsters, Porro, Kinsky. What we need is a squad that takes responsibility and shows leadership.
