David Ginola
Yes!No
I’m saying he, like every player has to a adapt and improve his game
He should use his time playing deeper to learn how to pass more than 10 yards for example
Would you play him instead of son?

Ok....Yes!
He’ll use bothOk....
I think no manager would myself
Son has goals, pace and scares defences all over the pitch
Guess we will see how the team evolves
And play 2 midfielders? He’ll use both
No

But that works in a system where we have a partner with KaneIt's a long season and there are plenty of games to spread around and i would have no trouble choosing Alli over Son at points in the season - for me both players have exhibited similar levels of form when on top of their game and if anything Alli has shown himself a better partner for Kane.
For me it's not an either/or with those two anyway and i can fit them both in to several on paper first XIs that i would be happy to go in to most games with.
I mean defending, attacking and passing
His defending is quite lazy. It’s better than Eriksens ever was but it’s still quite haphazard
Similarly he can’t pass a ball well over 10 yards
But that works in a system where we have a partner with Kane
But the signings were making so far make it look like we’re setting up for a 4-3-3 so there isn’t a partner
The equaliser vs Southampton was classicNo mate, his defending is excellent. He constantly denies passing opportunities to the opposition and cuts out threats before they exist due to smart positioning. If you expect him to be like Graham Roberts, then I understand your frustration?
I think you can have both Kane and Alli in a 3 with a more natural wide player (Son/Bergwijn) as long as there's lots of movement.
I don't get that comment? Eriksen was just about perfect defensively as one of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1. Every time his direct opponent went forward he would sprint to get back goal side of him. Granted he never thundered into a tackle and would bottle the 50-50s, but because of that he tended to always be goal side and slow down the opposition's attack, we would never concede a goal due to him being negligent or lazy with his tracking of an opponent's run. If I compare Eriksen to all of the other players who have played in the 3 in our 4-2-3-1, Eriksen's defensive contribution is greater. Eriksen's kms run per game stats were likely a direct result of his workrate to get back into defensive position when we turnover the ball.I mean defending, attacking and passing

It's all about having a squad anyway. There will probably only be a handful of games where all of Kane, Son, Bergwijn, Moura and Dele will be fit.And play 2 midfielders?
Or not play Steve who he has signed
Or not play Kane?

If moving to a 4-3-3 then I agree with you that Dele is unlikely to get in ahead of Son, Kane and one of Bergwign/Moura. A 4-3-3 relies on having pace in the wide forward positions and Dele is certainly not blessed with pace. There is no reason though that Dele couldn't play in a midfield three. Him, Ndombele and Lo Celso could work rather well.
Yeah we have a lot of midfield/attack options now ranging from a centre back Dier to the opposite Son... surely MouMou can devise a system. Be it a wonky 442 or 4132 or 42diamond or 316 or whateverIt's all about having a squad anyway. Eriksen did more defending than any other player who has played in the 3 in our 4-2-3-1. Defending isn't just about going in for tackles.Eriksen running didn’t mean he was defending
Just meant he was moving
His running stats will be no worse this season in sure but he was shockingly bad with his defending and I don’t just mean his bottling of 70/30 challenges (in his favour)
Running around and taking space is all useful but not if a team passes around you. The reason Tatanga looks good is he defends on the front foot. He doesn’t let the opposition get comfortable and able to pass well. Eriksen and Dele they take up space I agree but the opposition then pass around them as they know they won’t tackle

Every week I watch us and see the opposing full back push forward and Son/Dele/Moura look at them pushing on and not make the sprint to go and cover that run, I never saw that from Eriksen. Get your shape right in defence, with every player taking care of his direct opponent and you tend to defend well, goals generally come from teams creating numerical overloads. I would much rather all of my attacking midfield players took this responsibility than do so when they choose but go in for the odd 50-50.

I think Dele plays to winI don't see dele as a mourinho player. Not solid nor reliable enough to depend on to win things. Mourinho likes a tight squad... 2 per position - but all ready to play to win, everytime.
