If Ndombele can grow rhino skin, him and LaCelso with a quality DM is sexy.
Then maybe Jose is thinking to wideish speedsters (Son , Moura, Steve) with world class Harry as CM.
(Like the robben,duff days)

Obviously the defence needs a ongoing plan.

I think over the last 2-3 games the defence looks a lot more resilient, individual errors have cost us goals, but the unit looks more solid. Our failure as I see it is our inability to hold the ball up in attack (Kane included) which is allowing teams to keep us locked in our half for periods, when we break the opposition line from deep with quick passing and movement along the deck we look good, it’s just that tactic is not always an option during a game.

And you can pin teams back by having pace as a threat. It will make teams wary of committing players knowing we can counter

I genuinely think the modern game defensively starts form the front and we have had some weakness there lately I driven by players not making their challenges (Eriksen bottling 70/30s for example)

Said it for a while that 4-3-3 would work with the players we have. I don’t expect us to get a DCM as I think that’s a thing of the past in the modern game. Everyone will say other teams have better tacklers or defensive players there and I can’t disagree but some of those sacrifice their attacking side for that.
A key is a player like Ndom being fit enough to drive from midfield is key as he also when able won a fair share of tackles and challenged and despite the negativity winks does too. Lo Celso loves to tackle but also is clever enough to intercept
The only time we need a DCM aid of we play Dele in midfield as he doesn’t cover the defensive side as well

If Ndombele can get up to speed and with La Celso constantly improving....
I think the more control we get in midfield, the more having to hold the ball up will dissipate as the delivery from those two, as we have seen, is precise and deadly and made for our type of forwards.
Of course the defence needs better protection and tbh none of my suggestion is gonna happen overnight but as long as it's small steps in the right direction.

I still think the defensive protection thing is less of an issue if that defence stops the basic errors
Of late that has happened and we’re conceding less and also less shots

That's why Pochs vision was the diamond (even if the new parts of it weren't fit) it was La Celso and Ndombele on the sides Dier/Winks or new DCM at the base and Dele at the point.

The problem with the 4-3-3 is I don't see Dele in that line up.

I don’t see Dele playing TBH
The guy needs to have more all round involvement to play more
Unless we move to a 4-4-2 with him the 2

said it before but son becoming quality has hurt our balance as it’s taking something from Kane’s game and something from Deles

son has to start though as he has been better more recently

Unless Dele gets way more consistent, I can see him struggling to own a starting spot once Kane is back (similar to @Bedfordspurs I guess)

Kane and Son are a given, Dele will fight with Lamela, Lo Celso, Lucas, SB and even Seesegnon for 2 spots

Wages were the stumbling block if I remember correctly.
As I've said, I don't think the poor signing are all the fault of one person, they are all culpable imo.
