Jose Mourinho - SACKED

Another win and a much better game overall, loved seeing us break so quickly and they had no answer to it. We are definatly improving as a team Jose has got us tighter in defence and he is starting to cause all sorts of problems to opposing sides with our attacking. The team is begining to look like they are enjoying playing again and showing a lot more enthusiasm to play.

Kane was as good as i have seen him for a while, Lloris made a couple of real good saves and its good to see him putting his foot through the ball rather then chipping it down the field. The defence looks a lot better as a whole and Moura was outstanding in defending and he also got two more assists. Jose is begining to put his mark on our play and its really sad to see that some of those that decided they do not like him( and never wanted him here) will/can not see that he has made a BIG difference.

Some even seemed disappointed that we won again yesterday! Crazy state of affairs!
 
Can see clear improvement, people might not like the style but he organises a team well and a team that is well organised is also hard to beat.

If you have a poor defence it makes it very hard to win anything, even City with all their attacking dominance have lost 9 games in the league this season which has cost them the title.
 
We will do well in games where the attacking players are on it because of the solid base our defensive approach gives them to build on. The trouble will always be when we are up against teams that are happy for us to have the ball or when our attacking players have an off day.

Will be enough for a top 4 challenge next season probably

Next step for me. There was a reason why Mourinho was the one that came up with the bus parking term. He's had to face that approach a lot over the years.

We definitely have a lot of the ingredients to be a much greater threat against teams that sit back, but something has been missing for way too long. Hopefully Mourinho can find that ingredient in the transfer market or on the training ground.

Same here, good teams are built from the back because you have to limit opposing goals, once that has developed then you can start on the going forward roles in the team. Jose has already made us harder to beat which had to be the priority, from there we now have a base to start from.

I'm not sure that's always true. Liverpool figured out the attacking first then the defending.

Couldn't see Mourinho doing it any other way than he's doing it and can't argue with it. Especially as the playes seem to buy into the approach.

yes but Liverpool bought a top quality goalkeeper and centre half to shore up their defence while their attacking players were then allowed to do their thang.

I think Mourinho sees our attacking unit as almost compete and we just need the solid base for them to work from. Perhaps he was attracted to the project as it is the defence and midfield that needed to be improved which is probably his greatest strength and a little cheaper to improve.

Agreed. He constantly waxes lyrical about them. Just needs a brutish CF to complete his options in this department.

That base is not complete without a decent DCM.

All we are doing is giving the defence massive protection in a low/medium block, as soon as we want to become more expansive the old issues will raise their heads again. Centrally we need to be more solid. Poch had 3 brick walls to choose from...we have now?
